LEAVENWORTH COUNTY —One person died in a multi-vehicle accident that occurred just after 1:30p.m. Wednesday in Leavenworth County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Chevy Malibu driven by Jayden Ramirez, 19, Shawnee, was eastbound on Interstate 70 just west of Bonner Springs approaching heavy traffic.
The car struck a 2015 GMC Acadia driven by David Taliaferro, 68, Lubbock, Texas. The impact caused the SUV to collide with 2014 Ford Escape driven by Sina Stanford, 26, Independence, Kansas. The Ford then struck a 2000 Kenworth semi driven by Jeremy Domme, 42, Topeka.
A passenger in the SUV identified as Linda Taliaferro, 68, Lubbock, was pronounced dead at the scene. EMS transported David Taliaferro to KU Medical Center. The other drivers had minor injuries. All five individuals were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
