LEAVENWORTH COUNTY —The city of Basehor is reminding residents not to ride their horses on the sidewalk in the community.
According to the social media statement, a few horseback riders rode their horses through town on the City’s sidewalks and made quite the mess.
"We love animals – we just don’t love when the animal’s poop is left everywhere.Not only does riding horses on the City’s sidewalks create a mess, it is against City code."
"Our Parks and Rec staff had to spend their afternoon cleaning a lot of poop off the sidewalks. Please, do not ride horses on the sidewalks. And always clean up your animal’s poop. Thank you!"
