PETTIS COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 4:30p.m. Wednesday in Pettis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2012 Honda Accord driven by Gayline R. Leafty, 80, Sedalia, was northbound on Route. Y at Quisenberry Road.
The driver traveled into the intersection without yielding to a 2017 Volvo semi driven by Lloyd R. Waxter, 55, Fort Worth, Texas. The semi struck the Honda.
Leafty was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Rea Funeral Home. Waxter was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the MSHP.
