CHARITON COUNTY —Authorities are investigating a train accident that occurred just after 8:30a.m. Monday in Chariton COunty.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a BNSF train struck a side by side that was stuck on the tracks at Mike Road North of Mendon.
There were no injuries involved. No damage to cargo of train. The side by side, a vehicle designed to operate on railroad tracks and the engine of train were damaged. Mendon is located approximately 100 miles east of St. Joseph.
