KANSAS CITY —Emergency crews made a dramatic rescue during Labor day Weekend.
In the early morning hours Saturday, Kansas City Fire Department companies were dispatched to the 200 block of Grand Avenue on reports of a fall. After arriving on scene and investigating, crews located a patient who had fallen approximately 50 feet onto the rocks along the bank of the Missouri River.
Due to the patient’s location and difficult access, the response was upgraded and water rescue resources were requested. While emergency crews provided care to the patient, two rescue boats were launched from the boat ramp to assist with safely removing the patient from the riverbank and transporting them to an awaiting ambulance.
