
WABAUNSEE COUNTY—Two law enforcement officers were injured during a domestic violence arrest on Monday in Wabaunsee County.
Just before 7:30p.m. Monday, sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 36000 block of K-99 Highway, Wamego, Wabaunsee County Kansas on report of an active Domestic Violence Incident in progress, according to a media release.
After arriving on scene while attempting to place the suspect in custody, the suspect struck and kicked officers in active resistance to arrest. Sheriff Eric Kirsch took a hit to the head.

Sheriff Kirsch and Detective Rorabaugh received several kicks to the body. The suspect unsuccessfully attempted to grab Sheriff Kirsch's holstered Taser.
The suspect was successfully subdued with minimal use of force via lawful physical control prior to being safely placed in handcuffs without further incident.

Officers suffered minor injuries. The suspect did not require medical treatment.
The suspect identified as 23-year-old Abigail Ross, was transported from the scene to the Wabaunsee County Jail where she is being held on requested charges of charged of Domestic Battery Battery LEO (x2) Interference LEO and Resisting Arrest.
