
JOHNSON COUNTY—A child died from injuries in a weekend apartment fire in Overland Park.
On Saturday night, crews responded to an apartment fire at the Sheridan Ridge Apartments, 83rd and Farley in Overland Park, according to a social media report.

Firefighters rescued two people from the roof and two others from a second-story bathroom. Another person was found on the ground outside the apartment.
One adult and 3 children were transported in critical condition. Another adult transported in stable condition. Fire quickly knocked down and contained to unit of origin.
One 11-year-old boy died of injuries, according to an online fundraiser established to help the family.. Other family members also remain hospitalized. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
