KANSAS CITY —One person died in an accident just before 8p.m. Sunday in Kansas City.
A Ford F150 was southbound on Sterling through the intersection of the eastbound Interstate 70 exit ramp with a green traffic control signal, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.
A pedestrian was running east to west across Sterling and ran directly into the travel path of the pickup. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
The driver, front seat passenger and rear seat passenger of the Ford were not injured. This is fatality #62 compared to #86 at this time in 2024, according to DiMartino. Police did not released the name of the victim.
