A 21-year-old St. Joseph man has drowned in the Missouri River.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Johnathan Harness never resurfaced while swimming in the Missouri River Sunday afternoon.
Multiple agencies responded and a search of the French Bottom Access area in St. Joseph early Sunday evening began. Searchers discovered Harness’ body Monday afternoon after four o'clock near where he had been swimming.
The patrol reports the St. Joseph Police Department, the St. Joseph Fire Department, and the Elwood Fire and Rescue team responded.
