KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement investigating another homicide in Kansas City, Missouri have identified the victim as 40-year-old James Vaughn, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.
Just before 3:30p.m. Friday, police were dispatched to a shooting 9th and Denver just south behind a house, according to Becchina. Officers were directed behind a residence to the south of the intersection where they located a Vaughn unresponsive.
Officers rendered aid and called for EMS. EMS responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
A subject of interest detained for further investigation has been released, according to Becchina. The investigation indicates that the victim was at the scene when an argument escalated to an altercation that led to gunfire which struck the Vaughn.
