JOHNSON COUNTY —Law enforcement across Kansas continue to see drivers who ignore the posted speed limit. This week, in an effort to address our community concerns, police in Overland Park said they will continue to address traffic enforcement on Interstate 435 and US 69 Highway where there is a construction zone. On Wednesday morning a motorist was traveling 105 mph in a 65 mph zone.

Earlier this month, Kansas City, Missouri Police traffic enforcement unit issued 65 speeding citations in a three-hour span in Jackson and Platte Counties. Top speeds were 123, 99, and 94 mph, all in 55-mph zones. These Traffic officers are on the streets every day, and enforcement is continual.

KCPD indicated the driver cited for 123mph faces a mandatory court appearance.

Please remember to slow down and drive safely.
