JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. —Law enforcement are investigating two suspects on drug allegations.
Just before 2.m. August 4, a Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a red Chevrolet Silverado after observing the vehicle traveling on 150th Road near Q Road for an alleged traffic infraction, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.
During the traffic stop, the driver was identified as Craig Scott Lewis, 36, of Topeka, and the passenger as Katie Lynn Vance, 25, of Havensville.
The driver advised the deputy that his driver’s license was suspended. When asked to exit the vehicle, Lewis allegedly refused lawful commands and was taken into custody for interference with law enforcement. During the investigation, deputies developed probable cause to search the vehicle.
The search resulted in the alleged seizure of methamphetamine, marijuana, THC products, and drug paraphernalia. Lewis was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on the requested charges of Possession of methamphetamine, Possession of marijuana, Possession of THC, Possession of drug paraphernaliaInterference with a law enforcement officer Driving without a valid driver’s license
Vance was also arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of Possession of methamphetamine, Possession of marijuana and Possession of drug paraphernalia.
