Franklin "Frank" Joseph Wood 68, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday July 16, 2020 in a Saint Joseph, Missouri hospital. 

He was born September 12, 195 and graduated from Benton High School. He married Eva Dennis and she survives of the home. Frank worked in the grocery business all his life including: Woods Mart at Lake Contrary, Walmart and several other grocery stores in the area. He enjoyed Classic cars, classic rock music, fishing, talking will friends and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Clarksdale Baptist Church. 

Frank was preceded in death by grandmother, Jessie Irene Wood, brothers: Ron, Joe and Fred Wood, sisters: Norma Giseburt and Mary E. Wood. 

Survivors include: wife, Eva of the home, mother, Charlotte Majewski, daughters: Kristen (Matt) Howie, Jessica Skow, Amanda (Taylor) Russell, Melissa (Cody) Farr, Rebecca (Scott) Adams, and son, J.R. (Johnna) Swett, 15 grandchildren, brothers, Mark and Eric Majewski, sisters, Jenny Odell, Carol Conard, and Lorrie DeShon, many friends including Justin Watsinger, Danny Buckler, and Wendy Klepak and his dog Rockie. 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. He will be cremated under the care and direction of the Rupp Funeral Home following the services. Helen A. Hoemann, 96, of Hiawatha, died Tuesday morning, July 14, 2020, at Hiawatha Community Hospital.&nbsp; She previously had made her home at Maple Grove Senior Housing, prior to becoming a resident of Maple Heights Nursing Home.

Helen was born at Burchard, Nebraska, July 22, 1923, one of thirteen children born to Frank and Antonia Vetrosky Penkava and had lived in southeast Nebraska and &nbsp;northeast Kansas her entire life. Her early years were spent at Table Rock where she attended school thru the eighth grade.&nbsp; Helen received an award for her penmanship, and spelling.&nbsp; She worked at various occupations through the years:&nbsp; house cleaning, wall papering, all the way to being a bookkeeper for her son-in-law Clair Berkley.&nbsp; Most important to Helen was raising her children, later watching her grandchildren grow into being responsible, loving individuals.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Falls City, Nebraska; Hamlin Homemakers and Northwest Morrill EHU, VFW ladies auxiliary, ZCBJ at Dubois, a 75 plus year member and Bridge Club…she loved to play bridge!&nbsp; She enjoyed making quilts for all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.&nbsp; She loved to garden and canning her produce she raised.

She married Otto Blecha, December 29, 1941.&nbsp; While he was in the service, she and Doris lived with her brother Edward near Dubois, NE.&nbsp; After Otto returned from WW II, the family of 5 lived in a 3 room farm home near DuBois prior to settling in the Morrill-Hamlin area in 1961.&nbsp; He died April 8, 1973.&nbsp; She later married Ernest Hoemann February 16, 1974.&nbsp; They made their home on a farm near Morrill before moving to Falls City before he died February 17, 2004.

These two unions blended two families into one where they welcomed, treated, and loved each other’s children as their own.

Survivors include her children Doris Marteny of Hiawatha, Linda Berkley of Hiawatha, Mary Herbster (Robert) of Sabetha, Marcia Salyer (Steve) of Wellsville; siblings Alfred Penkava and Elma Lee Bucholz; sister in law Dorothy Penkava; 16 grandchildren, with numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Otto and Ernest, children Judy Bestwick, Jere Herold, son in law Clair Berkley, siblings Eva Mae, Emilie Hubka, Victor, Frank, Millie Znamenacek, Jerry, Edward, Lester, Elmer, and Irene Blecha.

A graveside service is planned for 1:30 Friday afternoon, July 24, at the Hamlin Cemetery with Andrew Chavanak officiating.

Mr. Juan García Perez of Saint Joseph, Missouri, USA; and Huehuetenango, Guatemala died on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri, USA. 

Juan was born on September 2, 1956 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. His Mother is Catarina Perez; his Father is Miguel Jacinto García; and his Step-Mother is Juana Lucas García. 

Juan was a valiant, sacrificing husband and father who deeply loved his family. When he was not working; he enjoyed watching Fútbol. He was a man of faith, and trusted God with all his heart and soul. Juan was a hard-working, Union Member in United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local Two (UFCW 2) at Triumph Foods. He is held with high regard, respect and affection by his Union Brothers and Sisters. Juan was a devoted member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church; and attended the Spanish Mass every Sunday, unless he was unwell or on vacation. 

He will be sadly missed by his wife Lucía; children Roberto, Rosa, Francisco “Chico” (Carmelina), Alfredo (Marleny), Andrés, Rosa María, Miguel, Catarina, Candelaria; and two grandchildren Petrona, Alexa, and Liam; friends and family in Guatemala, and Omaha; and his many friends in the USA.

Alfred was born on December 10, 1928, in Hurlingen, MO, to Joseph and Agnes (Fisher} Strube.

He graduated from Easton High School in 1946 and worked at Quaker Oats for 42 years. He spent 2 ½ years in the Korean War. Alfred was a member of the Co-Cathedral Catholic Church, St. Joseph, MO.

He loved to play cards, enjoyed bowling and square dancing. He served as president of the St. Joseph Swiss Society and was secretary of the Catholic Order of Foresters #1059. He also belonged to the American Legion Post 359 and the Quaker Quarter Century Club.

Alfred married the love of his life, Kathleen Pettepier, on April 15, 1952. They were married for 68 years. Kathleen survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: his children, Dennis (Christine} Strube, Kansas City, MO and Gail (Scott} Robaska, Parkville, MO; and five grandchildren, Matthew and Joshua Robaska, and Stephanie, Sarah, and Michael Strube. Also, sister-in-law Patricia Stewart, Manhattan, KS; brother&amp;sister-in-law Robert and Eva Pettepier, Council Bluffs, IA; and brother-in-law Ellis LaFollette, Easton, MO. Ten nephews and eight nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bernetta Wilson and Ermagene LaFollette and nephew Ronald LaFollette.

Parish rosary will be recited at 5:30 PM, Monday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel in St. &nbsp;Joseph, MO, where the family will receive friends following the rosary until 8:00 PM.

Mass of Christian burial 1:00 PM, Tuesday at Cathedral of St. Joseph Catholic Church followed by Interment with Full Military Honors at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Linda Gail Starks, 71, of St. Joseph died July 15, 2020. 

Lin was born January 24, 1949 in St Joseph, Mo to Ruth E Sherer and the late Raymond A Sherer. She graduated from Central High School Class of 1967, and Northwest Missouri State University Class of 1970.

She was an Elementary Educator for the St Joseph School District where she taught Kindergarten, First and Second grades.

Lin started the Volunteer Office for the St Joseph Chapter of the American Red Cross and was the Volunteer Coordinator for three years. She received the Award of Excellence (Volunteer of the Year) from the St Joseph Downtown Rotary Club on Nov. 19, 1992. Lin received the Regional Volunteer Achievement Award from the American Diabetes Association in 1995. She received the prestigious Clara Barton Honor Award for Volunteer Leadership from the American Red Cross in June 1995 and Exceptional Volunteer State Award in 2000. She began the Helping Hands Preschool of First Lutheran Church where she taught for several years.

Lin was selected as one of the “20 Who Count” in the St Joe News Press. Lin married Ron Starks on Dec. 20, 1969, at First Baptist Church. He survives after 50 years of marriage. Also surviving are: son Jason Starks (Tracy) and daughter Ellen Starks; granddaughters Alexis Paige Starks and Katressa Lynn Starks; mother Ruth E Ritenour (Ron); and brother-in-law Rick Starks (Annette); her loving Sheltie Baxter and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Farewell Services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, July 18, 2020 at First Lutheran Church.

Robert Eugene Harrell, 85, of Wathena, KS, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Wathena Health Care. 

He was born in Guthrie, OK on January 21, 1935 to Laura Hassler Harrell and Claude Harrell. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Robert worked most of his life as a tile and carpet layer, later becoming a truck driver. He was an avid fisherman, largemouth bass feared him. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Lance Harrell. 

He is survived by children, Michael Harrell, of Alaska, Richard Harrell, of Kansas, Marcia Harrell, of St. Joseph and Robert Knight, of Florida, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 

Mr. Harrell has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home.

Robert Eugene Harrell  1935 -2020

Patsy Ruth (Webb) Shepherd, 83 of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away surrounded by family at her home on July 14, 2020. 

She was born on February 25, 1937, in St. Joseph, MO, daughter to Irene Belle (Swope) Webb. She attended Kirschner School and Benton High School, and was a lifelong member of Kirschner Community Church until it closed its doors.

Pat dedicated her entire life to the Lord, her family, and the farm that she lived on. She treasured all of her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids with all of her heart. Pat also knew no strangers. If you were a friend of the family, you were a friend to her. Many have enjoyed the amazing spread of food she would put on the table, or the cakes and pies she would bake. Pat had a heart of giving and food was the medicine she gave everyone. If you showed up to her house, she would invite you in and one of the first things she might have said to you was "come on here and get something to eat." If you had a loss in your family, she was the first one to arrive with meals to comfort you. If you had a birthday, she would bake you a cake, a pie or whip up your favorite dessert to enjoy. Many also have enjoyed the bowls of popcorn, the annual sweet corn, and other comfort foods. One thing was for certain, at Pat's house, you would never leave hungry.

In addition to cooking and baking, Pat loved crafts and sewing throughout her years. Many of her family have worn dresses that she sewed for them for Easter, weddings, formals and other occasions. She shared this passion with many 4-H members throughout the years teaching them how to bake Cinnamon Rolls or sew an outfit to garner the Blue Ribbon at the County and State Contests. In her late years, she did not sit at the sewing machine as much and instead enjoyed making beautiful Christmas stockings for any child she knew or baby to be born. Her love for embroidery can also be seen in the hundreds of pillow cases and kitchen towels she has stitched over the years.

Music was also a joy to Pat as she said could get lost in the music. To her, music was where she could find the answers to things, or simply be in her own world. Throughout her life, she shared this love of music with her family, church friends and others. Many will never forget hearing her sing hymns with her crystal-clear high soprano voice or listen to her play the organ or piano in church.

Pat was a woman of faith. Being raised in the Christian faith, she had a strong affection for Jesus. She said our Heavenly Father helped her over many hurdles in her life and has carried her many a mile. In the end, she would always say "leave it in God's hands, He knows best." Today, we know she is rejoicing with the Lord in Heaven and her soul is full of the joys of everlasting life.

Pat is survived by daughters Deborah Ann McCamy (Donald), Charla Gayle Ewart (Rodney), Nancy Susan Healey (William); son Douglas Allan Shepherd (Cherie); Granddaughters Angela Dawn McCamy, Erin Denece Duin (Joseph), Kristen Michelle Tedder (Charles), Lyndsey Brooke Ewart and Grandson Daniel Ray McCamy (Megan). She is also survived by nine Great Grandchildren. Other survivors include her nephew Tommy Lee Cutter who was like a brother to her, half-brothers Roger Ebling (Cheryl) and Larry Ebling (Barbara); half-sister Beverly Freeman (Larry), brother-in-law Donald Shepherd (LaDonna); many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by parents Irene Belle (Swope) Webb and George Ebling, husband Robert Lee Shepherd Jr., son Darrell Shepherd, grand daughter Abigail Shepherd, great-granddaughter Whitney Ann Duin, and sister Lois (Webb) Hubbard.

The family will welcome friends to Visitation from 5pm to 8pm Friday evening at Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and livestream Services are 10am Saturday at Rupp Funeral Home with the internment immediately following at King Hill Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO. Pat was the Secretary and Treasurer for the King Hill Cemetery Association for 34 years. In-lieu-of flowers, the family requests donations to the King Hill Cemetery Association.

J.B. Philpot, 84, of Faucett, MO, died July 15, 2020.&nbsp; J.B. was born March 5, 1936, in Barbourville, Kentucky,&nbsp; to Ples Jackson and Mary Ethel (Parker) Philpot.&nbsp;

Prior to retirement he was an iron worker for a number of years at Concorp.

Survivors include his daughters, Laura Edwards (Larry), Mary Tollenaar (David) Amy Ratcliff (Michael) Nancy Tewell (Joe); six grandchildren, Abigail Edwards, Andrew Edwards, Evan Tollenaar, Katherine Tollenaar, Avery Tewell, Merrick Ratcliff; five great-grandchildren; &nbsp;sister Lucinda Worley; other relatives and friends.

J.B. was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Buelah Milsap; and two brothers Arville and Ludlow Philpot.

He was a member of the Ironworkers Union , loved working on cars, watching western movies, &nbsp;and spending time with his family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.

Patricia L. Lang, 89, of Cheyenne, WY, formerly of Robinson, KS, passed away on July 3, 2020.&nbsp; She was born on March 26, 1931, in St. Joseph, Missouri.&nbsp;

Pat received her master’s degree in teaching from the University of Wyoming and taught elementary education at Fairview Elementary School in Cheyenne for thirty-one years.&nbsp; She retired in 2005.&nbsp; She enjoyed gardening, traveling and playing the piano.

She is survived by her sons John and David (Karen) of Cheyenne, and Jim (Julie) of Sherwood, Oregon; and grandchildren Robert, Molly, Sarah, Crystal and Luke.

&nbsp; Pat was preceded in death by her brother David, parents Ethel and Willis McCauley and husband, John.

Betty Jean (Barnes) Swartz was taken from this earth to be with our Lord on Monday, July 13, 2020, just three days after her 91st birthday at Carriage Square Rehabilitation and Care Center in St. Joseph. 

She was born at home in Savannah, MO on July 10, 1929 to Claude and Lorene Barnes. Betty graduated from Savannah High School and then married Lloyd Swartz on August 30, 1947. She was a member of the former King Hill Methodist Church.

Betty spent much of her life taking care of family as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. In addition she served others by working at many retail stores in St. Joseph including the Little Mr. and Miss Shoppe, The Paris and most recently Montgomery Wards, where she retired. As a loving mother and grandmother, she really enjoyed cooking large meals and hosting family get-together's and parties. Christmas was a very special time for Betty because she knew that she would be surrounded by family. Betty loved to shop, seasonally decorate her home and go out to eat meals. She also loved attending family baseball games and always cheered on the Royals and the Chiefs. Her family stories were shared with all of those who cared for her throughout the years as she loved to visit with everyone.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Lorene Barnes, her loving husband, Lloyd Swartz, her daughter, Linda Miller and great-grandson Dylan Hill. Betty is survived by her two sisters, Connie Miller of St. Joseph and Judy Miller of Savannah. Remaining family members are daughters, Kathy West of St. Joseph and Marilyn (Cliff) Herr of Stillwater, OK and son, Brad (Tammy) Swartz of St. Joseph. Other surviving relatives include grandchildren Mark Miller, Heath Miller, Chip Holman, Heather Yates, Nathan Herr, Logan Herr, Jeremy Hill, Tyler Swartz and Kyle Swartz. Betty’s great grandchildren include: Aaron, Maddie, Kaleb, Derek, Brett, Kristina, Jillian, Elle, Emma, and Autumn. And her great great grandchildren are Presleigh, Portlynn and Paityn.

Peggy Jean (Burton) Tolbert, 91, of St. Joseph, MO, died July 14, 2020.&nbsp; Peggy was born August 2, 1928, in Kansas to Earl and Ella (George) Burton.

She was Manager of the Missouri Unemployment Office in St. Joseph for many years.&nbsp; Peggy was a very active member of &nbsp;Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church, American Legion Auxillary, Rotary Club, and Order of the Eastern Star.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband Richard Sawyer Tolbert.

Survivors include her daughter Sherrilyn "Sherry" Miller; &nbsp;step-daughter Jeanette Ashford; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Peggy loved all animals.&nbsp; She was a cancer survivor twice and would drive cancer patients to their appointments.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 19th, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel.&nbsp; Services will be Monday, July 20th at 10:30 a.m. at Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church, with interment following in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Peggy Jean Tolbert  1928 - 2020

Kay Jeanne (McIntire) Simpson, 87, passed away July 13, 2020 in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Kay Jeanne was born at home in Oregon, MO on June 20, 1933, the oldest of four children of Harry Lyons and Violet Marie (Holstine) McIntire.

Kay graduated both from Stephens College with a degree in fashion design, and also the University of Missouri, Columbia, graduating with a Home Economics degree. Kay was a Danforth Scholar and a proud member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. After college she received a prestigious internship from Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY. While attending the University of Missouri, she met Robert (Bob) L. Simpson, and they were married in Oregon, MO on August 25, 1956. They raised their four children in St. Joseph, MO.

After living in Coronado, CA, Whidbey Island, WA, and Pensacola, FL, Kay and Bob settled in St. Joseph, MO in 1959. Kay was a supportive spouse, engaging in various civic campaigns and causes that Bob was passionate about.

In addition to being a supportive spouse and raising her children, Kay’s first career was as a registered dietitian. She gave dietary guidance to state schools and private nursing homes in Missouri and Kansas. After leaving dietetics Kay embarked on a second career with Mary Kay Cosmetics and achieved Directorship. She served her customers and team members for many years until her retirement. She was also active in the Junior League, Dow “Joans” Investment Club, St. Joseph Ladies Golf and was a Girl Scout Leader. She served on the board of the YMCA and was a member of PEO Chapter BJ. She was a long-time member and a Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church. She loved people, flowers, birds, fabrics, fashion, photography, music, theater, a good party and was a gourmet cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tom McIntire; sister, Marilyn Schulte; brother, Mason McIntire and niece, Melinda Nedbalek.

Kay is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bob of their St. Joseph home; daughter Susan Kay (Mike) Kelly, Keene, New Hampshire, son G. Scott Simpson, Jackson, Mississippi, daughter Stacey Ann (Tim) Hill , Weston, Missouri, and Merry Ellen Turner, Omaha, Nebraska; five grandchildren; sister-in-law Ann McIntire, Overland Park, Kansas; brother-in-law, William Schulte, Verona Pennsylvania; sister-in-law Judy McIntire, Mound City, Missouri; and nieces, nephews and a community of loyal friends.

Kay Jeanne (McIntire) Simpson, 87, passed away July 13, 2020 in St. Joseph, Missouri.Kay Jeanne was born at home in Oregon, MO on June 20, 1933, the oldest of four children of Harry Lyons and Violet Marie (Holstine) McIntire.Kay graduated both from Stephens College with a degree in fashion design, and also the University of Missouri, Columbia, graduating with a Home Economics degree. Kay was a Danforth Scholar and a proud member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. After college she received a prestigious internship from Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY. While attending the University of Missouri, she met Robert (Bob) L. Simpson, and they were married in Oregon, MO on August 25, 1956. They raised their four children in St. Joseph, MO.After living in Coronado, CA, Whidbey Island, WA, and Pensacola, FL, Kay and Bob settled in St. Joseph, MO in 1959. Kay was a supportive spouse, engaging in various civic campaigns and causes that Bob was passionate about.In addition to being a supportive spouse and raising her children, Kay’s first career was as a registered dietitian. She gave dietary guidance to state schools and private nursing homes in Missouri and Kansas. After leaving dietetics Kay embarked on a second career with Mary Kay Cosmetics and achieved Directorship. She served her customers and team members for many years until her retirement. She was also active in the Junior League, Dow “Joans” Investment Club, St. Joseph Ladies Golf and was a Girl Scout Leader. She served on the board of the YMCA and was a member of PEO Chapter BJ. She was a long-time member and a Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church. She loved people, flowers, birds, fabrics, fashion, photography, music, theater, a good party and was a gourmet cook.She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tom McIntire; sister, Marilyn Schulte; brother, Mason McIntire and niece, Melinda Nedbalek.Kay is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bob of their St. Joseph home; daughter Susan Kay (Mike) Kelly, Keene, New Hampshire, son G. Michael “Riley” Green, 23, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020.

He was born January 31, 1997 in Fallon, Nevada to Michael and Reneé (Rule) Green.

Riley most recently attended Word of Life Church and was graduated from Central High School, Class of 2016.

Riley had the almost magical ability to connect with people anywhere he went. He had friends of all ages. Riley also had the gift of showing love and making people feel special and loved. He was adventurous, willing to try anything; canoeing, hiking, parasailing, ziplining, swimming with dolphins, any roller coaster. You name it, he was down for it. Riley loved living and experiencing life.

Riley enjoyed nature, music, dancing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lavina Jean Hartman and grandfather, John James Rule.

She was born November 4, 1932 in Wathena, Kansas to Guy and Viola (Gentet) Gardner.

Marjorie married Albert Steidel June 26, 1955; he preceded her in death January 22, 1993.

She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Marjorie’s family was the light in her life, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Marjorie enjoyed reading romance and mystery novels.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; brothers, Truman “Sam” Milbourn I (Minye) and Kenneth Gardner (Betty).

&nbsp;Glenn Scott Turner 55, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 in a Kansas City, KS hospital. 

He was born July 26, 1964 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Norma Jean and Floyd Turner. He attended Benton high school, and married Lisa Rose on June 30, 1990. He worked in the construction industry, enjoyed playing and coaching his sons baseball teams, mushroom hunting and fishing, riding four wheelers, but most of all helping other people with their projects. 

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Joyce Mackley. 

Survivors include, wife, Lisa Turner of the home, four sons, Bryan (Marissa), Luke (Stephanie), Ridge and Reed (Paige) Turner, a brother, Ray (Leslie) Turner, and a sister, Marti. Joseph, MO, three grandchildren, Kamden, Braely &amp; Maely, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert Lee "Bob" Rankin, 95, St. Joseph, MO, &nbsp;passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at a local healthcare facility.

Bob was born on October 6, 1924 in St. Joseph, Mo, to the late Fred and Mary Rankin and was raised in Bolckow.

In 1945, he married Helen Atkins, she preceded him in death in 1993.

Bob served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations and earned the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, the Victory Medal and the Army Occupation Medal.

Following the end of the war, Bob was part of the Occupation forces in Japan and he was later stationed on Okinawa where he was instrumental in processing the service personnel for their return to the United States. He was honorably discharged in 1946.&nbsp;

He spent the majority of his working career as a territory sales representative for the American Electric Company in St. Joseph and Maryville covering northwest Missouri and southern Iowa. Bob had countless customers who were very loyal to him over the decades and he was sorely missed by them upon his retirement.

Survivors include his second wife Shirley, sons; Michael (Connie) Rankin and Ronald (Ann) Rankin, grandchildren; Christina (Brad) Sievers, Elizabeth (Larry) Leivan, great-grandchildren; Abigail and Ava Sievers. step-sons; James (Jennie) Jennings, and Dennis (Linda) Jennings. step-grandchildren; Candice (Quinten) Graves, James Jennings III, Kristen Jennings, step-great-grandchildren; Kayden Graves and Gabe Graves.

Graveside service and interment with full military honors 10:00 AM, Thursday at the Savannah Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 concerns, no visitation or chapel service will be held.

He was a farmer, ordained minister and volunteer little league coach. Additionally, he coached peewee wrestling, basketball and football. Michael served on the Carrollton R-VII school board for many years. Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.

&nbsp;Pauline A. White, 94, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 10, 2020.

She was born April 26, 1926 to August and Hilda Blattner in Newport, Oregon.

Pauline Blattner met Delmer White while he was on leave in the Navy. They married October 26, 1946 and moved to Missouri to become farmers. Pauline and Delmer shared 65 years together before his passing in 2011.

She was an LPN for years. After retiring from nursing, she earned her Bachelor of Science in social science from Missouri Western State University.

Pauline was a member of Central Christian Church and formerly Orchid Christian Church in Union Star. She was involved in Girl Scouts and 4-H as well as her crafting circle.

Pauline enjoyed crafts, gardening, flowers, traveling to see her family in Oregon, shopping, being involved in community activities, attending her grandchildren’s school and sport events, and getting together with family, especially on Christmas, birthdays, holidays and special occasions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Dorothy Blattner and Maxine Schaffer; and daughter-in-law, Helen White. Survivors include son, Larry White (Debbie); daughter, Marlene Burgus (Marty); grandchildren, Nick (Liz) and Brad Burgus (Brittney); Katey Lindaman (Jacob) Mike (Jeny) and Derek White (Tara); great-grandchildren, Joey, Elizabeth, Hunter, Zeek, Vertus, Maddy, Ayla, Jase, Vera, Lacey, Rylan; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was born January 31, 1939 in St. Joseph, MO to William E. &amp; Marie E. (Stocksdill) Vetter.

Bob married Carol A. Lawrence on March 28, 1957 in North Kansas City. Mr. Vetter served in the US Marine Corps for over 20 years with 2 tours in Vietnam, retiring in 1976 as a Gunnery Sergeant.

He attended Longview Community College and then taught auto classes at North Town High School for over 20 years, retiring in 2001. His best hobby was family history and spending time with Maggie Wee, our great little dog who was family too!

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters Billie Moore and Jean Hansen.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carol Vetter; sons, Robert D. Vetter, Jr.(Terri) and Nicholas Vetter; granddaughter, Sadie Jo Ann Vetter and several nieces and nephews.
