She was born April 27, 1929 in Andrew County, Missouri.

Norma married Ivan Hurst January 1946; he preceded her in death October 7, 2008.

She was very active at Wesley United Methodist Church. Norma enjoyed crafts, quilting, and loved butterflies.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Harriet “Hattie” (Leach) Ramsey; sons, Thomas and Steven Hurst; grandson, Mark Hurst; brothers, Wayne and Kenneth Ramsey and sister, Pat Hall.

Alyssa Marie Turner, 25, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 25, 2020.

She was born October 26, 1994 to James and Suanne (Stinson) Turner.

Alyssa was a research assistant at University of Missouri- Columbia and a graduate student working on her master’s degree in occupational therapy.

She was a member of Huffman Memorial United Methodist Church, and Grace Evangelical, and CRU, where she served as a missionary in Athens, Greece. Alyssa was in numerous honors societies throughout her academic career. She graduated Magna Cum Lade from Missouri State University and was a member of the National Honor Society. She was also a member of Central High School choir and Band, involved in the Dance Arts Center and the Inertia Dance Company. Alyssa was University Ambassador of occupational therapy, a member of the Delta Zeta sorority and involved in the Joni and Friends Medical Mission.

She loved God. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends. She loved to laugh. Alyssa enjoyed traveling, singing, dancing, music and especially praise. She was always involved with children and Sunday school. She liked to cook and bake.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Robert Yost, Harold Turner and Bob Stinson; grandmother, Nellie Yost; great aunt, Mary Stinson; cousin, Jacob Andrews; uncle, Steve Armes; and sister, Shaina Anne Turner.

Barbara Jean Curtis, 68, of Elwood, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. 

She was born November 18, 1951 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Laura and Raymond Dilley. She married Patrick Curtis on October 26, 1989. Barb was a devout Christian, and was a member of Family Worship Center. 

Barbara was preceded in death by father, Raymond Dilley, mother, Laura Dilley. 

Survivors include, husband, Patrick Curtis of the home, children, Lisa Davis of Elwood, KS, Galen Fish Jr. of Cainsville, MO, and Matthew Curtis, grandchildren, TJ Bennett, Landon Davis, Cody Fish, Gage Davis Brent Davis, Dalia Ines, Cidney Curtis, and Mackenzie Curtis, brother, Harold Dilley of St. Joseph, sisters, Penny Clark and Vickie McConnell, both of Joplin, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.

Leland Eugene Orth 79, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 in a Saint Joseph, MO hospital. 

He was born June 4, 1940 in Kansas City, MO, son of the late Blanche and William Orth. He married Jane Newberry on January 23, 1961 in St. Joseph, MO and she precedes him in death. He is retired from the United States Army after 23 years of service as a Seargant 1st class and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Viet Nam Service Medal. He also retired from Certain-Teed Corporation after 21 years of service. He was a Life time member of DAV Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, and the VFW Post 6760, also a member of the Masonic Lodge A.F.&amp;A.M lodge #71 Savannah, MO, Order of the Eastern Star #287. He attended the Sojurn Church. 

Leland was preceded in death by wife, Rutha Jane Orth, his parents, a son, Leland Andrew "Andy" Orth, 2 brothers, William and Wesley Andrew Orth. 

Survivors include, daughter, Kim Elizabeth (Thomas) Orth-Hodge, Saint Joseph, MO, granddaughters, Brooke (Kyle) Orth-Chestnut, Liberty, MO, and Brittany (Joshua) Orth-Comninellis, St. Joseph, MO. and great grandchildren: Gideon and Shiloh.

She was born December 8, 1934 to Aubrey and Louise (Davis) Carey.

Mary married Billy Browning August 21, 1954. They were married for 27 years before his passing in 1982.

She was an LPN for the Sisters Hospital before moving on to Heartland West. Later, she retired from the State Hospital.

Mary loved to be outside and take care of her flowers and maintain the lawn. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities. She was an avid Chiefs and Royals fan.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, companion, Dave Fetty; and son, Robert Bruce.

Survivors include: children, Sandy Lukenbill, Steve Browning (Dana); brothers, Dave Carey (Linda, Dan Carey (Deb); grandchildren, Stephanie Roberts, Todd Lukenbill of Texas, Whitney Dryer (Edward) of Madison, Abby (Cory) Carpenter of Leawood, Ally Browning of Denver, Craig Browning of Kansas City, Mackie Browning of St. Joseph; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces nephews and extended family and friends.

Cathy Sue Grove, 70, Agency, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020.

She was born November 6, 1949 in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Cathy was a 1968 graduate of Central High School.

She married Edward Francis Grove August 30, 1974.

Cathy was a bookkeeper at Crouch Trucking and worked as a nurse’s aide at Mid-Buchanan R-5 School District before retiring.

She was a very kind and loving woman. There was nothing in life that she enjoyed more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Missouri Western Gold Coat Club and enjoyed attending the games and tailgating. A few other things that Cathy cherished were her yearly trips with her sisters-in-law, the trips to Sannibel Island with family, and the love for the beach. She also loved to spend time with her sister, Gina and brother, Ted. Cathy left a special place in all our hearts and will always be a part of us.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Marion (Utterback) Buhr; and sister, Sharon Laipple.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Edward; children, Matt Grove (Amanda, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Leigh Ann Shiflett (Bart, Green Valley, Missouri; grandchildren, Tyeson Humphrey, Tallon Shiflett, Taryn Shiflett, Mya Grove, Palmer Grove; great-grandchild, Tatum Humphrey; brother, Ted Wheeler; sister, Gina McClain and several extended family and friends.

He was an outdoorsman; enjoyed fishing, kayaking, hunting, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Rickie’s hobby was remote control cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Keith and Shirley Mae Nigh.

She was born July 13, 1955 in St. Joseph, MO, and graduated from Benton High School. Terri was a Veterinarian Assistant and Dog Groomer. G.L. Cowan Brownell, 82 of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020.

G.L. was born in St. Joseph on June 3, 1937 to the late Ira and Helen (Day) Brownell. After graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1955. After returning, he was married to Linda Bishop from April 5, 1957 until her passing in late 2001. With this union they had three wonderful children together.

He later married Angela Sullivan on September 14th 2003 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. G.L. was a proud member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed cabinet making.

In addition to his wife Angela, he is survived by his children Vickie Brownell, Bluffton, S.C., Greg (Beverly) Brownell, Camden Point, MO, and Doug Brownell, Grimes, IA; grandson Travis (Katie) Brownell and&nbsp; great-grandson Scott Ross Brownell, Redfield, IA.

Lawrence Eugene Matthews 88, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully Friday, May 22, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. 

He was born July 9, 1931, in Halls, MO, son of the late Beatrice and Robert Matthews. He graduated from DeKalb High School in 1950, and entered the United States Army in 1952. He married Shirley Mead on December 26, 1952, and she survives of the home. He worked at HyKlas Bakery and Sherwood Medical until they closed. He enjoyed fishing trips to Minnesota, and he was an avid and passionate carpenter, working tirelessly building his home, as well as assisting with the rebuilding of the New Home Baptist Church after it was destroyed by fire. He was a member of the New Home Baptist Church, and also enjoyed teaching Sunday School and taking care of the church grounds for many years. Lawrence was a very social, humble person who enjoyed attending the DeKalb Homecoming and being with his family and church family. He never knew a stranger and could always be seen with a smile on his face. He was a member of the Pony Express Iris Society. Lawrence and Shirley attended many conventions in the area, as well as four that were held at their own home, with their beautiful Iris garden. 

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harold Dean Sr., James, and Ronald Matthews, sisters, Doris Judah, Patsy Horine, and Ila Fauver, and grandson, Cody Matthews. 

Survivors include, wife, Shirley Matthews of the home, son, Steven Mark Matthews, daughters, Patricia "Patty" (Arley) Culp, and Marta Matthews, foster sons, Roger Vaughn and Robert Best all of St. Joseph, granddaughters, Shelly Culp, Teresa Cordry, Megan Berry, and Sophie Matthews, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, two sisters, Shirley (Larry) Wescott, Santa Maria, CA, and Arietta (Jerry) Agee, Broken Arrow, OK.

Jessica married Kyle Buhs on August 18, 2014, and he survives.&nbsp; Also surviving are her father John; daughter Kelly-Lynn Owens; two sons, Michael Burrows, Donovan Coon; sister Heather Phelan; brother Eric Bernardino; nieces, Kara Bernardino and &nbsp;Jylian Phelan; &nbsp;nephew Tristan Bernardino; other relatives and a host of friends.

She loved digital bowling and loved all type of animals.

He was born January 28, 1957 in Maryville, Missouri son of Beverly &amp; Bobby Phillippe. He married Coral Pinion Phillippe. He attended Lafayette High School and worked as a skilled trade contractor for many years. He enjoyed traveling, listening to music and playing his guitar. 

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Reed Phillippe, mother, Beverly Ann Phillippe, brothers, Bobby Dean Phillippe and Jerry Phillippe. 

He is survived by wife, Coral Phillippe of the home, daughters, Natasha Scott, Heavon Pinion, Crystal (Josh) Parker and, Carrie Throckmorton, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Randy Lee Phillippe  1957 - 2020

Warner Pape, Jr., 98, passed away on May 18.&nbsp; 

The oldest of three children, he was born in Hiawatha on Oct. 30, 1921, to Warner Pape, Sr. and Laura (Nichols) Pape.&nbsp; Warner attended Heckler grade school located on a Pape farm, and then attended Hiawatha High School, graduating with the class of 1939. In high school, he won numerous track medals including first place in regionals and third place in state running the 440 yards leg of the medley relay, and Grand Champion at K-State Little American Royal Dairy Division. Warner attended Kansas State University and was on the K-State track team.&nbsp; He came home to farm in 1940 when he began his life-long career as a farmer, semi-retiring in 1984 when he and Charlene moved to Hiawatha.

He was married to Charlene (Ellis) Pape Dec. 26, 1940, and they spent 79 years together.&nbsp; She survives, living at the South Pines, Hiawatha, Kansas.&nbsp; They spent three years in Illinois managing a dairy farm before coming back to the Zion Community north of Robinson to run the family farm, owning 2,000 acres at retirement.&nbsp; Warner and Charlene had three sons: Warner Ronald “Ron” Pape, III, deceased, (Julia Stonebarger) of Richmond, Texas; Jerry Pape, Fairfield Bay, Arkansas; and Alan Mark Pape, El Reno, Oklahoma. Their four grandchildren, Julie Christine “Christie” Pape Lorenz (David, Omega, OK;&nbsp; Warner Travis Pape, IV (Rachel, Houston, Texas; Lori Pape Henry (Corey, Hiawatha;&nbsp; and Jodi Pape Twombly (Paul, Hiawatha, and their ten great-grandchildren, Chase and Cale Lorenz, Lily and Julianne Pape, Ashlynn, Ethan, and Karson Henry, and Hannah, Claire, and Jace Twombly, were their pride and joy. Warner was also proud to say that they were ALMOST all K-Staters, with six family alumni and more to come.

Warner was equally proud of Hiawatha High School where he served for more than 25 years on the HHS alumni board and hosted class of 1939 reunions every five years. Warner was a life-long member of the Methodist church, first at Zion Methodist, Robinson, and then First United Methodist, Hiawatha. He served on various committees over the years, including chairman of the Pastor-Parish Committee for twenty years. Warner also served as the president of Robinson COOP, served on the Rainbow Telephone COOP for 24 years, 14 years as president; the director of Morrill and Janes Bank for 24 years, 10 years as Chairman of the Board; regional director of AAA of St. Joseph, MO, member of the Hiawatha Elk’s Lodge #1741, member of the Hiawatha Economic Development Board, member of the Hiawatha Country Club, member of the Arrowhead Yacht Club (Ketchum, Oklahoma) and owned 11 rental homes in St. Joseph with a partner. Warner loved to boat and ski, first at Horton Lake, then the Ozarks, then Grand Lake of the Cherokees where he and Charlene owned a cabin for many years, close to Charlene’s sister Geri and brother-in-law Bob. Every summer the whole family would vacation for a long weekend at the Lake, skiing and taking multiple rides in Warner’s boat. Warner also loved to entertain people and was known to have the biggest bar in town for all of his many friends, family, and neighbors to have a seat.

Warner’s greatest achievements were his devotion to the Free Masonry for 75 years, receiving his 75 year pin this March. Masonry and the Shriners were very important to him, and through the years he served in many capacities.&nbsp; He was a member of the Hiawatha Lodge #35 and Mount Horeb Chapter #43, and served as the secretary of both for 50 years, he was a member of Hiawatha Commandry #13 was a member of the Abdallah Shrine in Leavenworth for 73 years, was a member of the Washington Council #2, for 65 years, and was a member of the Royal Order of Jesters, Overland Park, for 26 years, as well as many other Masonic bodies. H was also a member of the Zenith Chapter #184 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the Moila Drum and Bugle Corp, St. Joseph, for 61 years, participating in many parades and ceremonies. Warner was the Grand Master of the Cryptic Masons of Kansas for two years, 1984 and 1985. He received the Five State Columbian Award for Outstanding work in Masonry and received the Kansas Knights Templer Cross of Honor in 2013 and the Cryptic Mason of the Year Award in 2014.

Warner was preceded in death by his parents, brother Willis Pape, sister Rosalie Pape Koppa, and son Ron Pape.

Warner Pape, Jr., 98, passed away on May 18.&nbsp; The oldest of three children, he was born in Hiawatha on Oct. 30, 1921, to Warner Pape, Sr. and Laura (Nichols) Pape.&nbsp; Warner attended Heckler grade school located on a Pape farm, and then attended Hiawatha High School, graduating with the class of 1939. In high school, he won numerous track medals including first place in regionals and third place in state running the 440 yards leg of the medley relay, and Grand Champion at K-State Little American Royal Dairy Division. Warner attended Kansas State University and was on the K-State track team.&nbsp; He came home to farm in 1940 when he began his life-long career as a farmer, semi-retiring in 1984 when he and Charlene moved to Hiawatha.He was married to Charlene (Ellis) Pape Dec. 26, 1940, and they spent 79 years together.&nbsp; She survives, living at the South Pines, Hiawatha, Kansas.&nbsp; They spent three years in Illinois managing a dairy farm before coming back to the Zion Community north of Robinson to run the family farm, owning 2,000 acres at retirement.&nbsp; Warner and Charlene had three sons: Warner Ronald “Ron” Pape, III, deceased, (Julia Stonebarger) of Richmond, Texas; Jerry Pape, Fairfield Bay, Arkansas; and Alan Mark Pape, El Reno, Oklahoma. Their four grandchildren, Julie Christine “Christie” Pape Lorenz (David, Omega, OK;&nbsp; Warner Travis Pape, IV (Rachel, Houston, Texas; Lori Pape Henry (Corey, Hiawatha;&nbsp; and Jodi Pape Twombly (Paul, Hiawatha, and their ten great-grandchildren, Chase and Cale Lorenz, Lily and Julianne Pape, Ashlynn, Ethan, and Karson Henry, and Hannah, Claire, and Jace Twombly, were their pride and joy. Warner was also proud to say that they were ALMOST all K-Staters, with six family alumni and more to come.Warner was equally proud of Hiawatha High School where he served for more than 25 years on the HHS alumni board and hosted class of 1939 reunions every five years. Warner was a life-long member of the Methodist church, first at Zion Methodist, Robinson, and then First United Methodist, Hiawatha. He served on various committees over the years, including chairman of the Pastor-Parish Committee for twenty years. Warner also served as the president of Robinson COOP, served on the Rainbow Telephone COOP for 24 years, 14 years as president; the director of Morrill and Janes Bank for 24 years, 10 years as Chairman of the Board; regional director of AAA of St. Joseph, MO, member of the Hiawatha Elk’s Lodge #1741, member of the Hiawatha Economic Development Board, member of the Hiawatha Country Club, member of the Arrowhead Yacht Club (Ketchum, Oklahoma) and owned 11 rental homes in St. Joseph with a partner. Warner loved to boat and ski, first at Horton Lake, then the Ozarks, then Grand Lake of the Cherokees where he and Charlene owned a cabin for many years, close to Charlene’s sister Geri and brother-in-law Bob. Every summer the whole family would vacation for a long weekend at the Lake, skiing and taking multiple rides in Warner’s boat. Warner also loved to entertain people and was known to have the biggest bar in town for all of his many friends, family, and neighbors to have a seat.Warner’s greatest achievements were his devotion to the Free Masonry for 75 years, receiving his 75 year pin this March. Masonry and the Shriners were very important to him, and through the years he served in many capacities.&nbsp; He was a member of the Hiawatha Lodge #35 and Mount Horeb Chapter #43, and served as the secretary of both for 50 years, he was a member of Hiawatha Commandry #13 was a member of the Abdallah Shrine in Leavenworth for 73 years, was a member of the Washington Council #2, for 65 years, and was a member of the Royal Order of Jesters, Overland Park, for 26 years, as well as many other Masonic bodies. H was also a member of the Zenith Chapter #184 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the Moila Drum and Bugle Corp, St. Joseph, for 61 years, participating in many parades and ceremonies. She was born April 18, 1942 in Cameron, MO, and was a homemaker, who enjoyed watching TV, reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, and taking care of her children. She was a Christian.

She was born September 9, 1945 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Malcom and Laura (Watkins) Branaman.

Donna married Terry Imlay May 24, 1968. He survives of the home.

She graduated from Lafayette High School, Class of 1963 where she was a cheerleader.

She was a executive administrative assistant for Wire Rope for over 30 years, then later at Agri-Lab for 7 years.

Donna enjoyed traveling with her husband to Europe, South Mexico and skiing in Colorado. She also enjoyed family holiday dinners, spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Tommy Cook.

On Sunday May 17th, 2020, Floyd Dennis Garrett, loving husband and proud father of three daughters, passed peacefully at the age of 61.

Dennis was born April 11th, 1959 to Gene and Margaret Garrett in Shawnee, Kansas. Dennis graduated from Sabetha High School in 1977 and went on to the University of Kansas. Shortly after, he returned to Sabetha to help run the family grocery store with his father and younger brother.

Dennis married his first and only love, Cheryl Leuthold, on August 17th, 1980. The couple had three girls together and the family began adventures that would be remembered for a lifetime, or at least, feel like a lifetime when driving to Texas for family vacations in a cramped minivan. Dennis enjoyed excessively researching new destinations, only to teach his daughters that the best part of travel is not found in a book, but in the eyes of the people who live there.

Dennis and his family moved to Atchison, Kansas in 1990 where he opened a grocery store, embraced the loving community, and created lasting friendships. While he was generally supposed to sit in his office doing paperwork, he was most often found in the produce department snacking on avocados.

Dennis is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Cheryl; his three daughters, Savannah Heironimus and husband Erik, Jillian Doeden and husband Jake, and Rachel Garrett-Smith and husband Adam; a granddaughter, Emory “Twig” Heironimus; his parents, Gene and Margaret Garrett; an older sister and three nieces, Lorinda Strahm, Nikki Heiman (husband Kent, three kids, Tara Ploeger (husband Jesse, two kids, Natalie Deters (husband Dennis, three kids); younger brother and family, Doug and Shannon Garrett, Olivia Garrett (2 kids, Meagan Schmelzle (husband Treavor, Brendon Garrett (fiancé Sara, Reggie Garrett (and Hunter); Cheryl’s family, brother-in-law Dennis Leuthold and his three kids, Brad Leuthold, Haili Hoffman (husband Ryan, two kids, Kelli Keim (husband Austin, 2 kids, sisters-in-law Debbie Leuthold and Terry Leuthold, a special dog named Tiny, and a lime tree.

Dennis is proceeded in death by two sets of grandparents, Floyd and Lulu Garrett and Waldo and Frieda Hunning; mother and father-in-law, Marylin and Harold Leuthold, and brother-in-law, Don Straham.

Our dad never liked using the term “fighting” cancer, he always felt he was more the battleground. His doctors and nurses were fighting for him. We’d like to thank and send our love to the medical teams at Mosaic Life Care and Oncology who helped give us a few more hugs and a few more moments.

Due to the current pandemic, a private family service will be held with Rev. Cyd Stein with burial at Sabetha Cemetery, Sabetha, KS. Dennis will lie in state on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM for the community to come and sign the register book and view Dennis. Sue Ellen Boyer, 69, of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, May 18, 2020 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. 

She was born September 6, 1950 in Indianapolis, IN, daughter of Eileen and Howard McNay. In 1994, she married Phillip Boyer. Sue spent many years as a waitress. She had a passion for serving others and especially loved serving with her church family at The Renew Church. 

Sue was preceded in death by father, Howard McNay, mother, Eileen McNay and a sister. Survivors include, husband, Phillip Boyer of the home, her step-children, Melody (Fred) Miller of Fredericktown, MO, Phillip Boyer II of Enid, OK, and Christopher Boyer of Enid, OK, 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandson.

Mrs. Boyer has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home.

Memorial Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2020 at The Renew Church. Pastor Josh Coverett, officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Joye N. Rhodes, 88, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020.

Joye was born September 8, 1931 to Otto and Roma (Jeffers) Brinton in St. Joseph, Missouri.&nbsp;&nbsp; She married Robert "Bob" Rhodes on May 30, 1948 in Troy, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp; Bob preceded her in death on November 3, 1999.

Joye graduated from Missouri Western State University and was an elementary school teacher at Edison and Eugene Field Elementary Schools.&nbsp; She was a member of South Park Methodist Church.

In their retirement years, Joye and Bob bought a camper and traveled the country. She loved to fish and spend time with her children, grandchildren and friends.

Joye &nbsp;was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Bob Rhodes, daughter; Randi Banker, son; Denny Rhodes and brother; Gary Brinton.

Survivors include daughters; Jana Cook (Bruce Veale) and Darla (James) Hunt, son-in-law; Fred Banker, daughter-in-law; Charlotte Rhodes, grandchildren; Andy (Kristin, and Brian (Amy) Banker, Danny (Emily Peters) and Dusty Rhodes, Kelly and Corey (Rebecca) Cook, Amanda (Joe) Ueligger, Fisher (Katie Bowe) Capps, and 15 "GREAT" grandchildren.

Judith Diane Bruder, 85, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020.

She was born March 16, 1935 in Independence, Missouri. She was a graduate from Northeast High School.

Judith married Wayne Bruder October 9, 1955; he survives of the home.

She worked for the Missouri Department of Motor Vehicles for 10 years in Blue Springs, Missouri and a bank customer service representative in Independence, Missouri.

Judith loved to play bridge, have family gatherings and get-to-gethers with her friends. She was the best cook in the world. Judith raised three boys and always put family before herself.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Price and Edith (Adams) Orrill; brothers, Don Orrill and Dale Orrill.

Judith Diane Bruder, 85, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020.She was born March 16, 1935 in Independence, Missouri. She was a graduate from Northeast High School.Judith married Wayne Bruder October 9, 1955; he survives of the home.She worked for the Missouri Department of Motor Vehicles for 10 years in Blue Springs, Missouri and a bank customer service representative in Independence, Missouri.Judith loved to play bridge, have family gatherings and get-to-gethers with her friends. She was the best cook in the world. Judith raised three boys and always put family before herself.She was preceded in death by her parents, Price and Edith (Adams) Orrill; brothers, Don Orrill and Dale Orrill.Survivors include husband of 65 years, Wayne; children, Jeff Bruder (Donna)- Houston, Texas, Eric Bruder (April)- St Joseph, Missouri, Charles Bruder (Kathleen Haake)- San Antonio,Texas ; grandchildren, Erica Bruder, Chad Bruder - St. Joseph, Missouri, Johnathan Bruder - Houston, Texas, Geoffery Bruder – Houston Texas, Alex Bruder – San Antonio, Texas and several extended family and friends.Farewell Services and Public Livestreaming 10:00 A.M. Mrs. Dixie Nadine Price, age 91, of St. Joseph, MO went to be with the Lord on the morning of Sunday, May 17, 2020, at Carriage Square.

Dixie was born on June 15, 1928 in St. Joseph, MO, the daughter of Virgil and Mildred Hannan.

Dixie was preceded in death by the Love of her Life, husband, friend and soul mate of over 60 years, Don Price; beloved son, Steve Price; and her sister June Sample, and additional family members.

She also leaves behind extended family and friends who will miss her.Farewell Graveside Services and Interment 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, Memorial Park Cemetery. The procession will leave from Meierhoffer Funeral Home &amp; Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Crossroads Hospice.
