Loyd Robert Simpson Jr. 82, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Norterre Healthy Living Center, Liberty, MO. 

He was born March 30, 1938 in St. Joseph, Missouri, son of the late Eva &amp; Loyd Simpson. He loved life, family, friends, and his faith. He talked rarely, but stood firm that God was our savior. We needed to live as Jesus did. Love unconditionally. Forgive without being forgiven, be honest, help the needy, never judge, always be faithful to God. Loyd's life was not easy. He had many obstacles, but he never questioned why. He supported St. Jude's &amp; the Shriner's Hospital. He loved children and believed all should help &amp; protect the children. He had a weakness for kids &amp; nothing made him smile more than a baby. He liked to fish, hunt &amp; farm. His business card listed "Jack of many trades, but master of none." He mastered everything he ever challenged. His work ethics were strong &amp; he expected the same from everyone. He had good business skills, and he was very successful at all he chose to do. He entered the Navy at 17 years old &amp; believed to the end that our military was a necessary part of this nation. He was a Shriner &amp; a member of the Rushville Masonic Lodge. He was a Republican who supported his president. He loved his country. Loyd founded the Simpson &amp; Son's Sawmill &amp; enjoyed log buying. He later opened South Side Pawn, which he was known for helping people in need. He'd pull cash out of his pocket to help those less fortunate to pay for their doctors visits without question. He had a big giving heart. 

Loyd was proceeded in death by his parents, Loyd R and Eva Ester Simpson, sister Mary Wilcoxson, wife, Patricia, &amp; son, Loyd "Robbie" Simpson III. 

Survivors include; daughters Daria (Mark) Ussary, Agency, MO, and Shana McLauchlen, St. Joseph, son Stephan (Mary) Simpson, St. Joseph, sisters Marty (Earl) Winder, Delores (Jay) Claycomb, Marna (Jerry) Milbourn, numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and several nieces &amp; nephews.

Memorial services 3:00 pm Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home. He will be cremated under the care and direction of the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Shriner's Hospital, or St. Jude's Hospital.&nbsp;

Max Leroy Johnson, 83, of St Joseph, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020 at Mosaic Life Care. 

He was born August 29, 1936 in Halls, MO, son of the late Helen and Forest Johnson. He graduated from Benton High School, class of 1955. He married Nellie Sullivan on January 10, 1956. He served nine years in the US Army Reserves. Max worked for Seitz Foods, retiring after 43 years. His hobbies included bowling, gardening, spending time on his tractor, and working in his yard. He was also a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. 

Max was preceded in death by his father, Forest Johnson, mother, Helen Johnson, and daughter-in-law, Janice Johnson. 

Survivors include, wife, Nellie Johnson of the home, son, Max (Clella) Johnson of St. Joseph, and daughter, Vicki (Wesley) Kennedy of St. Joseph, five grandchildren, Joshua (Janessa) Johnson, Sara (Mike) Stein, Aaron Kennedy, Shane Wright, and Eric Kennedy, seven great-grandchildren, Chyann (Tyler) Beers, Aubry Johnson, Hagan Johnson, Ruby Stein, Austin Stein, Hunter Stein, and Carson Howard.

Janice Lee Butts, 79, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2020 in St. Joseph. 

She was born September 21, 1940 in St. Joseph, daughter of Marjorie and Lester Venable. She graduated from Central High School, and she married Galen Butts on November 18, 1967. She retired from Heartland Hospital as a surgical technician. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafting, reading, and she was a stamper. Janice was a wonderful loving grandmother, and was very faithful and dedicated to the Lord. She was a member The Lighthouse Church. 

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Galen in 2015, and granddaughter, Tiffany Schock. 

Survivors include, daughters, Jody (Stan Larkin) Schock of St. Joseph, Jannette Gramer of St. Joseph, and Gayla (Jody Hughes) Wells of St. Joseph, brother, Bill L. Venable of Kansas City, MO, grandchildren, Ashley Albert, Matthew Crossfield, Marjorie Crossfield, Nicholas Klepees, Alexandria Palmer, and Addison Hughes, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Larry Edwin Agee, 83, of Lees Summit, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 21, 2020 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO. 

He was born August 9, 1937 in Halls, MO, son of Ella and Levi Agee. He graduated from Harrisonville High School, class of 1955. He married Carmen Rabideau in 1956. Larry began his career working with cars at Hook Truck and Tractor. He later went to work at Hook Buick as a Mechanic among several other dealerships. Larry enjoyed his time spent working on cars, and time with his horse, Treat, which was his companion for 30 years. 

Larry was preceded in death by wife, Carmen in 2005, father, Levi Agee, and mother, Ella Dorothy Agee. 

Survivors include, children, Lisa (Larry) Britz of Lee's Summit, MO, Larry (Tammy) Agee, Jr. of Cole Camp, MO, and Debbie Winn of Lee's Summit, MO, siblings, John Agee, Delbert Agee, Daniel Agee, Joseph Agee, Lelah Major, and Lahoma Dickinson.

Larry Edwin Agee  1937 - 2020

The humility, integrity, dignity and strength embodied in Heraclio “George” Almanza, 84, left behind a legacy of love, compassion and faith to all who knew him when he passed away at his home, Saturday, August 22, 2020.

Born, September 26, 1935 in St. Joseph, the fourth of eight children, to Martin and Victoria (Ortiz) Almanza, he remained a lifelong resident of the community. Upon his graduation from Benton High School in 1953, he enlisted in the army and served 3 years stationed in Korea after the war, an experience which left a lasting impression on him and gave him a lifetime of stories to share. Upon his return to St. Joseph, he married Carol Jeanette (Johnston) August 29,1958, who survives him, of the home. Shortly thereafter he embarked on his 42-year career as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. In addition to making his appointed rounds during snow, rain, heat and gloom of night for the USPS, for 3 decades, he was a familiar presence throughout the city working just as many hours at his lawn care business--first with his father and brothers and then on his own (with the exception of brief stints of employment and an exemplary work ethic extended, in turn, to each of his four children as they were growing up). As an active and involved member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, over the course of more than 50 years, he served in a number of capacities, most notably as a dedicated Sunday school teacher and servant-leader on the church’s Board of Elders. During his career as a letter carrier he belonged to Pony Express Post #359, American Legion. Always appreciative of the benefits of an education, he volunteered for several years as an adult literacy tutor. Helping to enlarge someone else’s world by teaching them to read--especially the Bible--gave him a great sense of purpose and satisfaction. Always supportive of his wife Carol and her interests, he also belonged to the St. Joseph Historical Society-Robidoux Row. Most recently, George revived an interest in boxing (he could trace back to his Golden Gloves days), as the oldest participant in the Freudenthal Center for Parkinson’s Disease therapeutic fit boxing program, modeling an indomitable spirit of perseverance and strength in the face of significant physical adversity and limitation.

George was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Tommie, and his sisters, Evelyn Soper, Margaret Owens and Josephine Deaton. 

Along with his wife of 62 years, Carol, he is survived by; his daughters, Donna (Randy) Klein, St. Joseph, Adair (Jim) Hargens; grandchildren, Will and Erin Hargens, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Valorie and grandchildren, Zane and Cooper Stokes, and son, Brian Almanza all of Kansas City, Missouri; his brother, Ed (Mary Lou) Almanza, Lawrence, Kansas; and his sisters, Henrietta Massie, Nashville, Tennessee, Connie Cridlebaugh, Kansas City, Missouri; brother-in-law, Lloyd Cridlebaugh, Kansas City, Missouri; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Freudenthal Center for Parkinson’s Disease fit boxing team, especially Stephanie and Corey Stewart, Garrett and Tara Patterson, and Maureen Raffensberger for their time, encouragement, service to and support of their PD boxers, and to the Freudenthal Hospice Care team, especially nurse Wanda Hayes (for her compassionate care in George’s final hours) for the comfort, care and support they provided to George and extended to his family these past few months. Known for cultivating well-tended vegetable gardens, mowing neatly manicured lawns, trimming beautifully shaped bushes, and giving his all for his family, George would be the first one to tell you, in his forthright and candid way, how lucky he felt to have the ordinary life he did.

She was born February 28, 1953 to Marlin and Emilie (Whitten) Robinson in St. Joseph, Missouri. Karen Robinson married Ronnie Foster March 30, 1974; he survives of the home. She was a 1971 graduate of Central High School. Karen was a well trusted daycare provider for 42 years. Karen Sue was a loving, caring wife, mother, MeeMaw and neighborhood grandmother. She always thought of others before herself. Karen loved their family trips to Colorado; hiking and taking in the beautiful scenery.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Xander Eurich.

Janelle Aldrich, age 77, left this world for her heavenly home on the evening of Saturday, August 22.

Janelle had bravely waged a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis, beating the odds time and time again. Her battle ended peacefully at home with her family.

Janelle was born in San Angelo, Texas on April 28, 1943 to Leonard Calvin (L.C.) and Opal Freeman. She married Max Thompson (Tom) Aldrich, Jr, on September 16, 1962. The married couple immediately returned to Memphis, Tennessee where Tom was enrolled in Optometry school.&nbsp; Following graduation, they settled in St. Joseph, Missouri where they began raising their family.

Family was everything to Janelle. She immersed herself in the joys of raising her children and providing a warm and loved-filled home.&nbsp; Her door was always open to anyone who needed a meal or just someone to lend an ear.&nbsp; She never knew a stranger, whether it was the checkout person at the grocery store, or her children’s friends who spent time in her home. She just had a way of finding a connection with others.

She was active in her church, beginning at the First Baptist Church and later at Wyatt Park Baptist. And while her illness made it hard for her to attend later in life, her faith and love of God were still an everyday part of her life. She was comforted in knowing that she would be greeted in heaven by her loved ones, including her son, her parents, and her dear friend Sharon Sue.

When her children were older, Janelle went back to work and spent many years employed with the St. Joseph School District as school secretary at Mark Twain Elementary School and then later as office manager in Tom’s optometry practice. Throughout her life she was involved in a variety of organizations including the Junior League, P.E.O. FL, and the American Optometric Association Auxiliary.

Janelle is survived by Tom, her husband of 58 years. She is also survived by her brother, Charles, Michael Freeman of St. Joseph; daughters, Kristin Kessler of Overland Park, Kansas, and Kara (Brian) Hicks of St. Joseph. Her son, Michael Todd Aldrich preceded her in death in 2008. Her grandchildren include Jessica, Hannah, Max and Baley Aldrich; Maura, Rebecca, and Owen Kessler; and Lauren Gaudette. She was a proud great-grandmother to her four great-grandchildren Taevian, Taejah, Lamaree, and Taysen.

Janelle was also preceded in death by only one month by her mother, Opal Freeman of St. Joseph. Her father preceded her in 1985.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 26th&nbsp;followed by a service at 11:00 am at Grace Evangelical Church in St. Joseph. She will be buried alongside her son at Forbes Cemetery in Holt County, Missouri.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, the family requests that all in attendance at the please wear a mask.&nbsp; The church will accommodate social distancing guidelines.

Donations can be made in Janelle’s memory to the Noyes Home for Children.

Margaret Ellen (Cassity) Patton, born March 13, 1929, passed away on August 21, 2020 in Wathena, Kansas.

Born to Claude and Helen (Gardner) Cassity in Rushville, Missouri. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Junior College. Margaret played organ at Troy United Methodist Church for over 45 years and for many weddings and services in the community. She worked at American Electric Company until she married Raymond H. Patton June 15, 1952 in Rushville, Missouri. Margaret worked part time at 1st Bank of Troy, which the Pattons owned and operated from 1958 to 2012. She served on the Board of Directors for 54 years. Margaret was a member of the Eastern Star, SLK, United Methodist Church in Troy and several bridge clubs which she enjoyed so much. She also taught knitting in 4-H and helped with the program. She was a Cub Scout Leader and Brownie Leader. Margaret enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren so much. She was an awesome mother to Bill and Pam and left them with so many wonderful memories. Her grandchildren were a top priority in her life and she prided herself in helping them buy their first car with her Bank of Grandma Interest Free Loan Program. She always had a hug and a kiss for her family, whom she loved with all her heart. She had an infectious laugh and was a fabulous chef who loved to entertain.

He was born March 13, 1937 in New Hampton, Missouri. He was a special superintendent for the Missouri State Highway Department for more than 35 years. Bill enjoyed keeping his yard and the yards of his neighbors and friends nice. He liked to sit on the porch and enjoy his lawn with his dog, Stink. He also loved the slot machines and to mingle and have fun at the casino.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mable Thornton; great-granddaughter, Ava Park; brothers-in-law, Oliver Thornton, Don Lesan, Gordon Gray, Wesley Jones, Rollan Parkhurst and Walt Ulrich, former wife, Donna Whitaker.

Rita Pauline Gibson 85, of Agency, Missouri passed away Friday, August 21, 2020 at her home. 

She was born April 13, 1935 in Agency, MO, daughter of the late Nettie and John Shields. She retired from Mid-Buchanan R-V after 23 years of service. She was a member of the Agency Christian Church. 

Rita was preceded in death by husband, Franklin "Bud" Leroy Gibson, sons, Dennis Allen, Gerald Ray, Richard, and son, R.D. "Bo" Gibson, daughter, Jackie Sue Gibson, and her parents.

Frederic Ide, 72, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020.

Frederic Wilson Ide was born in Iowa City to Lucien and Barbara Ide on March 19th, 1948. His tight knit ever-growing list of friends would describe him as vibrant, very funny, devoted, and the life of the party. Fred was a rambunctious child with an inquiring mind, quickly earning the name “Fearless Freddy.” He earned that name with his numerous scars, as well as the mental scars he left on his mother Barbara. He graduated from Central High on 1966, then went on to attend the KC Art Institute, earning a degree in Graphic Arts. Several examples of his design work can still be seen around St. Joseph today. A true “river rat”, some of Fred’s happiest times were spent on the Missouri river with his friends and family.

Post-graduation, Fred started a window-washing company with his brother Gordon, giving it the aptly-named title “Sunshine.” Their enterprise eventually became an electronic sign manufacturing company. Sunshine’s business quickly spread nationwide, and to aid communication across the country, Fred developed the innovative idea to control the signs by satellite. It was during this time that Fred met his soon-to-be wife Barbara. Their courtship began when Fred asked her to go ice-skating in the middle of the summer. Nothing if not persistent, he proposed to her several times, finally succeeding, and the two were married in May of 1987. They would go on to have one son, Geoffrey (the British spelling of his name would haunt him throughout his school years).

Fred and Gordon sold Sunshine Electronic Display Corp. in 2004. During his brief retirement, Fred kept himself busy. He traveled the world with his wife Barbara, bought a river barge, and invested in a racing yacht on the Mediterranean. He also busied himself with an abundance of community work around St. Joseph. Figuring it would be less work to go back to work, the two brothers purchased multiple trash service companies to create Bright Disposal. To this day, Bright is successful and continues to thrive and expand.

Fred was a community-builder. Long before the advent of social media, his network of contacts and friends was impressive. He was fiercely loyal to his friends, his family, and to St. Joseph. Fred had a great sense of humor. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. Fred was an adventurer. Some people seek to live ahead of the curve; Fred made his own curve. He was a pioneer and a true original. In Lucien’s toast to Fred and Barbara at their rehearsal dinner, he said about his son: “When they made Fred, they broke the mold.”

Born May 12, 1939, in Muskogee, OK, he was the son of the late Edward and Stella (Esterling) Ashby.&nbsp;

Mr. Ashby served his country in the US Navy 1957-1960.

Gene was a mechanic and owned and operated Ashby Drywall. &nbsp;

Gene attended Mabel Worship Center in Cameron, Missouri and Open Bible Church in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and watching sports, especially the Kansas City Royals, Chiefs and Mizzou Tigers.

On April 13, 1979, in Savannah, MO, he was married to Suzanne (McMinn) Ashby.&nbsp; They celebrated thirty-two years of marriage before she preceded him in death on, April 18, 2011.&nbsp;

In addition to his parents and wife, Gene was preceded in death by his son, Roy Ashby, Jr., grandson, Cameron Ashby, three brothers and four sisters.

Roy "Gene" Eugene Ashby, Sr.  1939 - 2020

Euna Vaye (Ukena) Brant, age 98, formerly of Hiawatha, passed away on August 19, 2020 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She was born March 16, 1922 near Highland, Kansas, the daughter of Harry and Esther (Hegenderfer) Ukena.&nbsp; She graduated from Robinson High School and Highland Community College and taught for two years at the Diamond School, a one-room country school.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

She married the love of her life, Walter R. Brant, on June 10, 1943 and encouraged her husband to become a minister.&nbsp; They were married 67 years and their ministry spanned some fifty years in serving Evangelical United Brethren and then United Methodist churches in Kismet, Parsons, Roeland Park, Salina, Topeka, Atchison, Reserve and Hiawatha, Kansas.&nbsp;

Euna Vaye was a busy mother of five children, taught Sunday School, and was always active in Women’s Missionary and Fellowship groups.&nbsp; Among the hobbies that she enjoyed were gardening and canning, sewing and embroidery, quilling, and keeping family scrapbooks.&nbsp; She was a member of P.E.O. chapters in both Atchison and Hiawatha.&nbsp; Her talents included playing piano and singing soprano in various church and community choirs including the Atchison Mother-Singers and the Hiawatha Music Club.&nbsp;

In 1976, Walter and Euna Vaye were blessed to work with other couples in the founding of the United Methodist expression of Marriage Encounter. &nbsp;They then became the first National Clergy Couple and presented United Methodist weekends across the country. &nbsp;Euna Vaye and Walter were also adventurers who enjoyed trips to the Holy Land, England, and Hawaii.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Preceding her in death were her husband in 2010 and her third daughter, Joan Barhydt, in 2016.&nbsp; Euna Vaye is survived by her other children and their families:&nbsp; Marilyn Spatz of Overland Park; Elaine and LeRoy Schrader of Lancaster; son-in-law Bob Barhydt of Salina; Nita and David Zeit of Fairview; and David and Deba Brant of Topeka and by 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and by her sister Beverly Bottiger of Lakeland, Florida.

Due to the pandemic and for the protection of all, the family will gather for a private service.&nbsp;&nbsp; There will be no public visitation with the family, but friends may pay their respects from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha.&nbsp; Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery near Robinson, Kansas.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Kenneth Adkins 64, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at his home. 

He was born July 31, 1956 in Caroll County, MO, son of Mary and Ira Richard Adkins. He attended Savannah High School. Kenny enjoyed working on his cars, riding his tractor, and cold beer. 

Kenneth was preceded in death by mother, Mary Katherine Adkins, father, Ira Richard Adkins, son, Alex Adkins, and sister, Mary Ann Wright. 

Survivors include, companion of 19 years, Angela Eaton of St. Joseph, son, Josh Adkins of Savannah, MO, son, Justin Adkins of Amazonia, MO, step-son, Joseph Eaton, step-daughter, Anna Eaton, grandchildren, Tristan, Carleigh, Carson, and Kingston Adkins, brothers, Alvin, Rick, LeRay, and Donnie Adkins.

Wanda Chambers, of Paola, KS, peacefully passed from sleep into eternity on August 18, 2020, in her home. Wanda was born May 2, 1928, at the family farm southwest of Savannah, MO. She graduated from Savannah High School in 1945.

She was employed by the Dr. Nichols Cancer Sanitarium for five years until she married the love of her life, William Aaron Chambers, on August 29, 1948, at the Savannah Methodist Church. She worked at the Maryville Lumber Company while Bill was in college. They lived in Clinton, Kansas City, St. Joseph, and Savannah during their 62 years of marriage. Wanda moved to Paola after Bill's death.

She was a member of the Amazonia Methodist Church and then the St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was very active in Christian Women's Club of St. Joseph and Friendship Bible Studies for many years. Wanda loved her church and her Lord, and was certain in her salvation.

Wanda was a dedicated homemaker for her family. She loved being grandma to her grandchildren and Gigi to her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed many types of crafts and handwork, especially quilting. She spent countless hours in her lovely flower gardens, and enjoyed travelling and camping with Bill.

She was preceded in death by her dear husband Bill in 2011, parents Clyde and Rada (Vetter) Wampler, siblings Maxine Shreve, Garold Wampler, Evelyn Steeby, Herbert Wampler, and step-mother Frances Wampler.

Wanda is survived by daughter Sydney (Mark) Dulgarian of Paola, KS, sons David (Linda) Chambers of Spotsylvania, VA and Steve (Carol) Chambers of Madison, AL; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings Doris Schopfer, Debbie Deering, Ron Wampler, and Dwight Wampler; and several dear nieces and nephews, and friends.

Services will be 12:00 PM, Monday, August 24 at Savannah Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church.

James D. Criswell, 69, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020 of COVID-19, at his home.

He was born April 21, 1951 in St. Joseph, Missouri, son of Clyde and Katherine (Carmichael) Criswell. His most notable occupation was as owner of the Convenient Food Mart gas stations in the St. Joseph and Kansas City area.

Survivors include former spouse of 36 years, Dianne (Rush) Criswell Bray; son, Timothy Criswell (Rebecca); granddaughter, Lauren Criswell, all of Kansas City.

Roger Lee "Bud" Helsel 85, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020 in a Saint Joseph, MO hospital. He was born September 16, 1934 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Edward and Marie Helsel. He attended Benton High School and entered the United States Marine Corp. He married Joyce Hlavaty on October 1, 1954 and she survives of the home. He is a veteran Korean war and the recipient of the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Purple Heart, and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation. He was the Manager at MFA for many years. Bud enjoyed softball in his younger years, gardening, watching war films, bust most especially spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and attending their events, even a tea party. They were his everything. He was a hugger who never knew a stranger. Bud was a member of American Legion Post #359, and the Journey Baptist Church. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Roger "Buddy" Helsel Jr., brothers, Kenny, Ed, and Rodney Helsel, and his sister, Shirley Carpenter. 

Survivors include, wife, Joyce Helsel of the home, son, Robby "Dean" Helsel, St. Joseph, MO, daughter, Kathy (Ronnie) Martin, St. Joseph, MO, grandchildren: Kiefer Helsel, Jay (Jennifer) Martin, Jenna Kepner, and Jeremy (Kristen) Martin, greatchildren: Austin, Trinity, Jax, Treyton, and Jude, and a great great grandson, Daxton, and two sister in laws, Katie Helsel, and Shirley Helsel.

Funeral services and live stream: 10:00 am, Friday, August 21, 2020 at Rupp Funeral Home, Pastor Jacob McMillian officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Galen "Butch" H. Daise, 72, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at a Kansas City, Missouri health care center. 

He was born August 26, 1947 in St. Joseph, son of Eva and Howard Daise. He graduated from Benton High School class of 1967. He married Deborah Roberts on April 14, 1972. Butch was an over the road Truck Driver, retiring after many miles. He enjoyed hunting, boating, working on cars, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the former Hyde Park Presbyterian Church . 

Galen was preceded in death by father, Howard Daise, mother, Eva Daise. 

Survivors include, wife, Deborah Daise of St. Joseph , children, Tina Daise of Agency, MO, Travis Daise of St. Joseph and step-son, Brian (Stacy) Adkins of St. Joseph, brother, Leland "Buster" Daise of St. Joseph, seven grandchildren, Brittany Adkins, Morgan Pierce, Daniel Beloate, Chyanne Curtis, Cody Daise, Bryce Gasper and Madi Daise and great-granddaughter, Avery Pierce.

Graveside Funeral Service and Interment will be 10:00 am, Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
