Velva L. Allison, 99, St. Joseph, MO passed away Monday, September 28, 2020 at her home.

She was born Oct. 11, 1920 to Arthur and Grace (Walter) Lundquist on the family farm south of Corning, Ia. Velva married Wilmer A. Allison on Nov. 25, 1945. He preceded her in death on Jan 9, 2004. The majority of their married life was spent near Trimble, Mo, where they raised their 3 daughters. She delighted in being a homemaker, providing her family with a loving home. She obtained her teaching certificate at Northwest Missouri State Teacher's College, teaching prior to her marriage and again in the 1970s.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Carla Wiegman and her sisters, Rowena Milliken and Ila Mae Boston.

Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca Allison and Lesa Allison; grandson, Adam L. Wiegman; granddaughter, Allyson (Adam M.) Murcek; great grandchildren, Kisala and Orion Murcek; her sister, Arleta Westbay and her son-in-law, Larry Wiegman.

She was born in St. Joseph to William Haven and Della (Lefferts) Aholtz. Elizabeth married Walter S. Patten October 11, 1941. He preceded her in death June 16, 1979. She attended Lafayette High School. Elizabeth was a homemaker and also was a housemother for Carder Hall at Methodist Hospital. Elizabeth was a strong Christian, who left a spiritual legacy for her family and who enjoyed spending time with family.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include daughters, Mary P. Anderson (Lyndel) and Patricia A. Guess (Robert L.); grandchildren, Emily Elizabeth Neubauer (Jason), John Patten Anderson, and Bethany Kristine Guell (Scott); great-grandchildren, Ruby Mae and Wyatt Scott Guell; several nieces and nephews.

Brodee Patrick Becerra, 17, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020.

He was born October 11,2002, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Patrick and Amy (Blair) Becerra. Brodee enjoyed riding his Harley, playing sports, hunting, fishing, music, friends, his dog - Travis Scott, and his sister who was the apple of his eye but he loved tormenting her. He was a “LEGENDARY ROCKSTAR” a one of a kind who loved fashion and his bling. Brodee was a cook for Chick-fil-A.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas “Papa” Becerra, and great-grandmothers, Lula Mae Grossman and Shirley Hoskins. Survivors include parents; sister Brenzlee Becerra; grandparents, Judith Becerra, Sandy “Nanny” (Jim “Papa”) and Bill Blair (Patty); great-grandparents, Virgil Grossman and Norris Hoskins; aunt, Julie Becerra; cousin, Addison Mejia; girlfriend, Gillian Heller; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

Spence was born at Horton, September 13, 1933, one of four children born to George and Dora Marie Schuetz Spence.&nbsp; She grew up at Horton where she attended St. Leo’s grade school prior to attending Horton High School, later working to earn her GED so she could attend Clark’s Business School in Topeka for two years.&nbsp; She also attended Washburn University, also in Topeka, for a year majoring in English composition.

Delores had been a resident of The Pines in Hiawatha for 2 1/2 years, where she passed away Sunday evening, September 27, 2020.&nbsp; She had lived at Maple Grove Senior Apartments for several years before moving to the Pines.

She spent most of her working life in Topeka, first for the state of Kansas as a clerk-typist for five years.&nbsp; She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell and later AT&amp;T for a total of 25 years before retiring.&nbsp; She returned to Brown County where she worked as a nurse aide at the Horton Hospital, and for a dentist Dr. Hill, for 5 years.

Her faith was a very important part of her life:&nbsp; she was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church at Mercier while she was growing up.&nbsp; After returning to Brown County, she was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Hiawatha.&nbsp;

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Carolyn Young, and brothers Ralph Spence and Cliff Spence.

Surviving are her extended family, her Church family, and friends.

A memorial graveside service is planned for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 10,&nbsp;2020, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha.&nbsp; Father Dan Gardner will officiate.

Beverly Jean (Stagner) Wall, Kenesaw, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020.

She was born December 1, 1945, in Hemple, Missouri, to George and Flossie Ann (Richardson) Stagner. Beverly married Garry G. Wall June 25, 1971. He survives of the home. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School. Beverly was a longtime member of Bethany Christian Church in Hemple, Missouri, and helped on the farm until she became Garry’s caretaker after his accident in 1986.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruby Dubach, Dorothy Blezard and Eva Zilinski; and brothers, Joseph and Cecil Stagner.

Survivors include husband, Garry; children, Richard Wall and Pam (Brad) Jameson; stepchildren, Judy (Tim) Rogers and Jodie (Bradley) Kurtz; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Hilton.

He attended the Police Academy in Hutchinson, KS was an officer and fire arms instructor for APD until 2001. He then worked for Ferrell Gas Company and presently worked for the ACME Vending Company, St. Joseph, MO. Linden was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Rushville, MO. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and golfing. He was married to Billie K. (Burnett) Whitfield in 1983. They were divorced in 1996. He was married to Lori (Steele) Dugger in 1997 and they were divorced in 2008. Survivors include a daughter, Tiffany Whitfield-Gallagher, Atchison, KS, three sons, Kyle, Drake, and Gage Whitfield, all of Atchison, KS, two half sisters Kay Green, Sedalia, MO and Carol Heruman, Gladstone, MO, four grandchildren, Aiden, Addisen, Adaleigh, and Adler Gallagher, Atchison. His parents and a half brother Jerry Whitfield preceded him in death.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Kathy Lynn Wood, 66, of St. Joseph, passed away October 1, 2020.

Kathy was born in Wichita, KS to Kenneth and Norma Wood.&nbsp; Upon graduation from El Doradon HS, she attended the University of Kansas, ultimately graduating from Washburn University with her Juris Doctor degree.

After graduation, Kathy worked for Legal Aid, later embarking in her own private practice.&nbsp; Kathy was a strong humanitarian with great compassion for those in need, this also extended to her love of animals.&nbsp; She will be missed by all.

Kathy is survived by a sister Anne Cross, (Bob) and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.

Kathy has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel.

Kathy Lynn Wood  1954 - 2020

On Monday September 28, 2020, Marilyn Siebenmorgan, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 71.&nbsp; Marilyn was born on March 26, 1949 in Nortonville, KS to Celestine and Armella Schneider.&nbsp; She married Glenn Siebenmorgan on April 27, 1968.&nbsp; They raised three children, Lisa, Toni, and Doug in Hiawatha, KS.

Marilyn enjoyed making mosaics and was an excellent cook with a specialty in pie making.&nbsp; Her greatest joy was spending time with her two grandchildren, Alisa and Levi, attending their horse shows and ball games.&nbsp; She passed on her love of cooking to them.&nbsp; She was never without pictures of them and was always so proud to show them to everyone.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Glenn, of the home, her daughter Toni (Robert Jr.) of Macon, GA, her son Doug (Jayme) of Paxico, KS and her grandchildren Alisa and Levi of Macon, GA.&nbsp; She is also survived by brothers Bob (Linda) Schneider, Don Schneider, Mike (Luana) Schneider, Dennis Schneider, David (Rhonda) Schneider, all of Kansas; sister Donna (Marty) Moranville of Colorado; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Siebenmorgan Elliott, and her parents Celestine and Armella Schneider; brothers Celestine Jr. and Tom Schneider; sisters Alice Schneider, Darlene House, Pauline Durkin, and Glenda Frye.

Friends may call at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home after 12 noon until&nbsp; 7 p.m. Friday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Hiawatha at 10:30am with a Rosary to begin at 10 am.&nbsp;Father Daniel Gardner will be the celebrant. Graveside Services will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha.

On Monday September 28, 2020, Marilyn Siebenmorgan, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 71.&nbsp; Marilyn was born on March 26, 1949 in Nortonville, KS to Celestine and Armella Schneider.&nbsp; She married Glenn Siebenmorgan on April 27, 1968.&nbsp; They raised three children, Lisa, Toni, and Doug in Hiawatha, KS.Marilyn enjoyed making mosaics and was an excellent cook with a specialty in pie making.&nbsp; Her greatest joy was spending time with her two grandchildren, Alisa and Levi, attending their horse shows and ball games.&nbsp; She passed on her love of cooking to them.&nbsp; She was never without pictures of them and was always so proud to show them to everyone.Marilyn is survived by her husband Glenn, of the home, her daughter Toni (Robert Jr.) of Macon, GA, her son Doug (Jayme) of Paxico, KS and her grandchildren Alisa and Levi of Macon, GA.&nbsp; She is also survived by brothers Bob (Linda) Schneider, Don Schneider, Mike (Luana) Schneider, Dennis Schneider, David (Rhonda) Schneider, all of Kansas; sister Donna (Marty) Moranville of Colorado; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.She was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Siebenmorgan Elliott, and her parents Celestine and Armella Schneider; brothers Celestine Jr. and Tom Schneider; sisters Alice Schneider, Darlene House, Pauline Durkin, and Glenda Frye.MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIREDFriends may call at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home after 12 noon until&nbsp; 7 p.m. Friday.Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Hiawatha at 10:30am with a Rosary to begin at 10 am.&nbsp;Father Daniel Gardner will be the celebrant. Lucile Matilda (Kaelin) Peden Lipira, 103, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020.

Lucile was born November 19, 1916 in Wathena, Kansas to Oscar and Mathilda (Boeh) Kaelin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Forrest Peden, husband Marion&nbsp; Lipira, four sisters, five brothers and two grandchildren.

Lucile is survived by her daughters Roseann Hoeye and Marsha Potter, son Anthony (Maxine) Lipira, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Mass and a graveside service will be held at a later date.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Cathedral of St. Joseph.

Dennis Eugene Gage passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020.

Dennis was born in St. Joseph on December 15, 1950. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Dorothy Gage, and brother-in-law, John Lee Wildberger.

He worked at Specialty Industries &nbsp;for over 50 years. He loved his job!

Dennis was very active in the Special Olympics. He was the pitcher for St. Joe Sluggers since 1998. Baseball was his favorite sport.

He was very much a people person and never met a stranger. He liked to tell jokes and tease.

He is survived by Dottie Wildberger, his sister, whom he had a very close relationship with. Nephew and wife, Paul and Joan Wildberger. Niece and husband, Lori and David Adams. Great niece and nephew, Ali and Jake Fisher.

The family would like to thank everyone who supported Dennis in his life. There are so many to name but Kathy Grossman, Becky and Tamala Heaton, and Gracie Wildberger, were special.

Betty Laverne Taylor, age 83, passed away on October 1, 2020 from the late stages of dementia. She was born October 28, 1936 in Fillmore to Glenn, and Elma Gressly.

Throughout life, she loved doing things with her hands, which were rarely still. She toll painted, sewed clothing, planted flowers, canned fresh vegetables, and later made scrubbies for washing dishes.

Betty went to Savannah High School, and worked at the Andrew County Court Circuit Clerks office for her first job. After time away, she returned to that job, then ran for, and won office until her retirement.

Proceeding her in death were her parents, husband Gary T. Taylor, and daughter Janet Lynn Taylor. She is survived by two children, Scott Taylor, and Linda Kier, along with thirteen grandchildren, Erica O'Hare, Andrew Kier, Alex Kier, Blayton O'Hare, Courtney Messick, Austin Saunders, Bryson O'Hare, Kylea O'Hare, Erileaina O'Hare, Zayah O'Hare, Drayven O'Hare, Cooper Kier, and Rory Soethout.

Graveside Service and interment will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the Savannah Cemetery.

Jack G. Adams, 85, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020 at Mosaic Life Care Hospital.

He was born August 12, 1935 to Charles and Gladys (Collins) Adams. Jack was a lifelong resident of St. Joseph, Missouri. He married his high school sweetheart, Earlene; she survives of the home. Jack worked in law enforcement, business management and sales. He was a member of Brotherhood Lodge #269 and Scottish Rite where he obtained the honor of 33 degree. Jack was a lifelong member of Boy Scouts and was a Medicine Man in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was also of the Baptist faith.

Jack and Earlene were blessed with 4 children, Dennis Adams (Barb), Diana Adams, David Adams (Kendra), DeAnna Rodriguez (Daniel); 8 grandchildren, Chayse (Hannah), Skyler (Arin), April, Nicole, DJ (Rilea), Cheyenne (Adam), Danica, Molly; 5 great-grandchildren, Parker, Eleanor, Nick, Nate, and Anna.

Marie Margaret Sharp, 95, Northland Kansas City, MO formerly of St. Joseph, MO, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020.

She was born January 21, 1925 in St. Joseph to Christopher and Margaret Van Dusen. She was raised by her stepfather Wallace Ralls and mother, Margaret.

Marie was a graduate of Savannah High School and played clarinet in the band. She married Theodore Clyde “Ted” Sharp on November 9, 1947 in St. Joseph. Ted preceded her in death December 21, 2012. She was a homemaker, seamstress, loving mother, and grandmother.

She was also preceded in death by her brother Glen Van Dusen.

Survivors include daughter, Lindell Campbell (James); their children, Jamie Poteete and Jeff Campbell; son, Dennis Sharp (Bonnie); their children, Tia Shumaker and Jeremy Sharp; eleven great grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Judy O’Connor (Mike).

He earned his master’s degree while serving in the Air Force as a Captain. Ron lived in the Boston, Massachusetts area for many years. He enjoyed watching baseball.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Carylon Hecker 62, of St. Joseph, MO passed away Friday, October 2, 2020 in a Kansas City Hospital. 

She was born October 23, 1957 in St. Joseph, Missouri, daughter of the late Mildred &amp; Ken Hecker. She graduated from Helen Davis School. 

Carylon was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Kenneth and Bill Hecker. 

Survivors include: brothers: Arthur (Amy) Hecker and Jimmie (Mel) Hecker. 

She will be cremated under the care and direction of the Rupp Funeral Home. No scheduled services at this time.

Carylon Hecker 62, of St. Joseph, MO passed away Friday, October 2, 2020 in a Kansas City Hospital. She was born October 23, 1957 in St. Joseph, Missouri, daughter of the late Mildred &amp; Ken Hecker. She graduated from Helen Davis School. Carylon was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Kenneth and Bill Hecker. Survivors include: brothers: Arthur (Amy) Hecker and Jimmie (Mel) Hecker. She will be cremated under the care and direction of the Rupp Funeral Home. No scheduled services at this time.

Earl Fred Trauernicht 80, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020 at his home. He was born December 21, 1939 in Shawnee, OK, son of the late Wilhelmia and Thomas Trauernicht. 

He was the owner operator of Earls Tree Service. He was a Baptist. 

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Thomas and Troy Trauernicht. 

Survivors include: wife, Caroline Trauernicht of the home, daughter, Julie (Tim) Branstetter, sons, Fred Trauernicht Jr. and Teddy Trauernicht, step son, Kent (Cathey) Miller, step daughters, Laurie Coon, Saundra Sarnowski, and step daughter, Tina Frogge (James Reid), brother, Bill Fred Trauernicht, and 11 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services: 10:00 am Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Rupp Funeral Home, Pastor Jacob McMillian officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the King Hill Cemetery. Mary Agatha Penland-Boose 84, of Rosendale, Missouri passed away Friday, October 2, 2020 at her home. 

She was born April 20, 1936 in St. Joseph, Missouri, daughter of the late Mary &amp; John William Hovey Sr. She graduated from Sparta School. Mary worked at Stetson Hats, Whitaker Cable, and Chase Candy Company. She enjoyed crafts and ceramic, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Agape Love Lighthouse Assembly Church. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Sally Bailey and Bonnie Potts, first husband, Fred Penland Sr, brothers, Paul E. Hovey and John Hovey, sisters, Janet Irene McPherson and Sharon Kay Willey, and son, Daniel Patrick Boose. 

Survivors include: second husband, Jim Boose of Rosendale, MO., children: Fred Penland Jr, Rose (Bill) Sterlo, Steve (Lynda) Penland, Bill (Ann) Penland, Mary Jane (John) Brewer, Nancy (Jim) Ball, and David (Nicole) Boose, brother, Mike Hovey, sisters, Linda Ferguson and Barbara Decker, 33 grandchildren, 74 great grandchildren, and 25 great-great grandchildren.

Tristan C. Simpson "Mini", 26, Elwood, Kansas, died on Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, from catastrophic complications of undiagnosed Diabetes at KU Medical Center. Tristan was born Feb. 17, 1994, in Topeka, Kansas and was a lifelong area resident of Elwood, Kansas.

Tristan is survived by his Mother, Tricia (Burns) Jago, Elwood; his Father, Bradley C. Simpson, White Cloud; Maternal grandmother, Sharon (Smith) Burns, Elwood; Paternal grandmother, Dollie (Coursen) Anderson and husband Emery, Excelsior Springs; Paternal grandfather, Dorsey Simpson and wife Sandy, White Cloud; Brother, Bradley “Shane” Simpson, Elwood; Sister, Ashley (Simpson) Nold and husband Russell, St Joseph; Niece, Adelyn Nold; Nephew, Ethan Nold, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was born September 21, 1939 to Robert E.L. and Nora Francis (Brooks) Davenport. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School and had worked as a retail clerk for Woolco and Kmart. Jerrie Anne loved to read and bake.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Roger was a successful entrepreneur and owned Chafen Body Works for over 40 years. He enjoyed restoring cars and antique boats. He loved spending time with his extremely spoiled dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife, Tammy; brother, Randy Chafen (Gloria) and their daughter, Megan.

She was born April 7, 1950 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of the late Myrtle and Aaron Keith Sr. &nbsp;She attended Benton High School, and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing the piano, listening to Gospel music, cake decorating, and spending endless time with her family. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James Eugene Umphrey, her parents, sister, Beverly Justis-Williams, brothers, Aaron Jr., Charles, Carl, and John Neal Keith. 

Survivors include: sons, Michael (Nicole) Umphrey, Sturgeon, MO., and Jim (Lisa) Umphrey, Newtown, MO, and grandsons, Cody Umphrey (Mason Lock) and Kaleb (Claire) Umphrey, granddaughter, Kaylee (Dillon) Baumgartner, sisters, Patty (Larry) Tracy, Elaine Ebling, Marilyn (Dennis) Steeby, great grandchildren, Avian &amp; Hadleigh, and her companion, Phil Martinez.

Thomas Edward Dawson 83, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. 

He was born March 2, 1937 in Omaha, NE, son of Bertha and Thomas Dawson. He graduated from Easton High School, and he attended St. Joseph Junior College. He worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, retiring at the age of 55. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, doing hill climbs, shooting competitively, and he loved fireworks and hunting. He was a member of St. Joseph Lodge #78 AF&amp;AM, was a 32nd Degree Mason, past President and one of the founding members of the St. Joseph Rifle and Pistol Club. 

Thomas was preceded in death by father, Thomas Albert Dawson, mother, Bertha Dawson-Barton, and brother, David Dawson. 

Survivors include, daughters, Rebecca Dawson of St Joseph and Dana (Bobby) Hastings of Marianna, FL, and Kim (Ken) Thomsen of St Joseph, son, Brien (Becky) Dawson of St. Joseph, his companion, Fern Hill of St. Joseph, MO, niece, Susan Dawson, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Monday, October 5, 2020 at Rupp Funeral Home, Pastor Leanna VanZandt-Nauman officiating.
