Dorothy J. (Garrison) Price, 96, of Atchison KS died peacefully on Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, at Vintage Park, surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, Oct. 19th, 2021, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Greene officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1942 and earned an Associate Degree in Dietary Science and Food Service from Penn Valley Community College. Dorothy worked as the dietitian and kitchen manager for the Atchison Youth Center for over 14 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, had served as PTA President for Washington School, and was an avid bridge and canasta player. She enjoyed traveling having visited all 50 States, reading, playing board games with her grandchildren, and cooking for family holidays. She was married to Harold L. Garrison in Nov 1942. Mr. Garrison preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1990. She was later married to Joseph Price on Sept. 1, 1993, and he also preceded her on Oct. 1, 2011.

Survivors include a son David (Linda) Garrison, Wichita, KS, three daughters Sarah (Douglas) Bounds, Leavenworth, KS, Kathryn Soph, Atchison, KS and Jane McLain, Edmond, OK, two daughters-in-law, Beth Smith, Pasco, WA and Janet Garrison, Basehor, KS, sixteen grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, and a special friend Glenn Hicks, Atchison, KS. 

Her parents, both husbands, two sons, Mike and Bill Garrison, a son-in-law Greg McLain, and stepdaughter Gloria Kerns, two brothers, Milton and Ronald Reynolds, and two sisters, Martha Replogle and Sara Olivas preceded her in death.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Carol June Bryson 81, of Clarksdale, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 15, 2021 in a Saint Joseph, MO. hospital. 

She was born February 11, 1940 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of the late Anna "Laura" and Henry Clay Seever. She married Harold on March 19, 1960, and he survives of the home. She worked at Custom Cable, and retired from BMS Warehouse. Carol enjoyed watching Hallmark Christmas movies, traveling, especially to Branson, spending time with her grandchildren, and going to their sporting events. She loved going to Church. 

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Kim Rachele Springs, sister, Laura Marie Guyer, brothers, Henry, Jacob, and Eddie Glen Seever.

Robert J. Cash died on October 9, 2021 at age 79.&nbsp; Bob Cash was born Roy Roland Harris, the youngest of eleven children born to Roy and Agnes Edmonds Harris on November 15, 1941, near Mountain Grove, Missouri.&nbsp; At age one year, he and his four youngest siblings were kidnapped by the Joplin Baby Ring and sold.&nbsp; Bobby was adopted at nineteen months by Bob and Edith Edde Cash and grew up in Hiawatha, Kansas.

Ag age seven Bobby began walking himself three blocks to church alone.&nbsp; He earned his God and Country award in scouting.&nbsp; In 1957 he won first place in the nation in a math test in trigonometry although he had never taken a trigonometry class.&nbsp; As a teenager he had his own haying crew in the alfalfa fields.

Bob graduated from Kansas University in 1964 and earned his M.S. from K.U. in 1968.&nbsp; At age 25 he set a base record in Run, Dodge and Jump at Fort Bliss.&nbsp; Before Jaws of Life, Bob would pry injured people out of car wrecks while others were standing around waiting for help to arrive.

For 14 years Bob was director of Services for the Elderly.&nbsp; Bob trusted Christ as his Lord and Savior, even up to ten minutes before he died.

His funeral will be Saturday, October 23 at 10:00 at Chapel Oaks with visitation at 9:00 A.M.&nbsp; At 9:00 John Howard will play bagpipes.&nbsp; Rev. Dennis Fulbright will preach and lead congregational singing playing his guitar.&nbsp; Flag folding and gun salute will follow.

Pallbearers will be grandson Cash Mildwater, Bob’s nephews:&nbsp; Steve Carrico, Rick Theno of Kansas City, and Anne’s nephews Brock, Bronz and Brandy Peterson.

At Clifton Cemetery at 3:00 Kent Kalivoda will read scripture, and Anne’s brother and wife Bill and Bryn Peterson will sing and play the flute.

Bob is survived by his wife Anne Peterson Cash, by daughter Sara Cash and grandson Cash Mildwater of Alsea, Oregon, by his sisters Shirley Munn of Shell Knob, Missouri and Donna Theno of Fort Worth, Texas. &nbsp;His birth sister Jackie Harris Cash Littrell who grew up with him, died in 2009.

Larry Piper, 86, of St. Joseph, MO, formerly of Phoenix, AZ,, passed away October 14, 2021.&nbsp; Larry was born July 1, 1935 in Shenandoah, Iowa.&nbsp;

He was a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO with a Bachelor's in Education.&nbsp; He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Larry lived most of his life in Phoenix, Arizona where he was the Director of the Parks and Recreation Department and the Public Library for the City of Phoenix.

He was a tennis pro and played a doubles match against Rod Laver - Australian Champion tennis player and&nbsp; was the founder of Wheelchair Tennis for the City of Phoenix, which is still going on today.

Survivors include his daughter Vicki Lynn Rivas; brother Rodney Piper; grandchildren, Shawn, &nbsp;Brittany, Deidre,&nbsp; Joey, and Nick; &nbsp;many great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a son Steve Piper.

Larry loved his family and was a great father to his children.&nbsp; He loved to travel, loved playing tennis, and gardening.&nbsp; He was a lifelong Chiefs fan and loved the Phoenix Suns.&nbsp; His dogs that he had throughout his life were his greatest love, especially Angel and Patches.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Angelman Syndrome Foundation or to Autism Foundation.

William S. “Stan” Caton Jr., 69, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at this home surrounded by his loved ones.

Stan was born on October 6, 1952 in Marshall, Missouri to William S. and Winnona L. (Aronson) Caton Sr.

Stan married Kathy Moskau on August 9, 1980 and spent 41 years with the love of his life.

He was a teacher, coach (Football and Basketball); avid Chiefs and Mizzou fan. Loved his family, yard work, gardening and going camping in the summer with his family at Lake Pomme de Terre. He was the Best Husband, Dad, Granddad and uno player there was.

Daughters, Erin (John) Anderson, Beth (Chris) Grider

3 grandchildren, Gage Grider, Serena and Olivia Anderson.

Aunts, Bobbie French, Joyce Caton and Dee Dee Aronson.

Penny Sue Miller, 80, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

She was born February 22, 1941 in St. Joseph to Henry and Goldie (Shidler) Miller. She attended Krug School, where she learned life skills. Penny was a longtime member of Wyatt Park Baptist Church and was involved in Sunday School there.

She enjoyed exploring St. Joseph on the city bus. She also liked doing puzzles and watching classic TV shows and game shows.

Penny held a special place in the hearts of many and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and a sister. Survivors include extended family members; special friend Amy Jenkins; and her church family at Wyatt Park Baptist.

David Forrest Stafford, 68, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, October 8, 2021 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.

David was born August 2, 1953 in St. Joseph, son of Mary and Forrest J. Stafford. He graduated from Benton High School, class of 1971. He married Karen Strong on May 21, 1984.

Dave worked at Green Hills and other area grocery stores for 39 years. He owned and operated several area Gambino's Pizza restaurants for 11 years. He founded Superior Professional Window Cleaning with his son in 2008.

David was an honest, hard-working family man. His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing bass and guitar, especially with his granddaughter whom he taught how to play. He was a member of Central Christian Church and played bass in the worship band.

David was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carol Broce, and brother, Steven Stafford.

She worked as a cake decorator at Green Hills, Sam's Club and Wal-Mart. Brenda loved baking and decorating cakes and spending time with her grandkids. She was all about her family. She also was a softball coordinator for MESA. 

Brenda was preceded in death by mother, Patricia West and step-brother, Craig West.

William Donald “Bill” Coffman, Jr., 83, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021.

On November 8, 1937 he was born to Ella (Lisenbee) and William Donald Coffman, Sr. in Omaha, Nebraska.

Bill was a proud member of the U.S. Navy and Air National Guard. He graduated from Elwood High School in 1957 and faithfully attended those reunions. He owned and operated Coffman Pest Control. Bill enjoyed college basketball, especially KU and Duke. He loved John Wayne movies and Bob Seger. Bill was known for his meticulously maintained yard and trucks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Buddy Coffman; brother, Darrell Coffman; brother-in-law, Harold Pauly.

Survivors include children, Rebecca Hughes (Jimmie), Donna McCullough (Toby), Danny Coffman, Bill Coffman; step-daughter, Stacie Curry; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Delores Pauly; sister-in-law, Carol Coffman; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ezekiel (Zeke) Martin Hackett, 6, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 surrounded by his family at home. He was born on March 4, 2015, in St. Joseph, Missouri.

He attended pre-school at Oak Grove School and Helen M. Davis School both in St. Joseph, MO. " Zeke" loved to go places and meet people. He especially loved his church family when they would say his name, touch his hand and say hello. His favorite past time was to sit outside, feel the sunshine on his face, listen to the fountain and hear the birds singing. At night; he would look up in awe on his ceiling where he would see the stars and moon projected there. He would listen to lullaby's as he fell asleep. Dorie married Edee Joyce Miller on May 22, 1955. Together they enjoyed 66 years of marriage. He worked at the St. Joseph Stockyards and farmed most of his life. When he wasn’t working, he loved spending time with and helping family, neighbors and friends. Dorie enjoyed being outside whether he was farming, gardening or working in the yard. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters; brother; and son-in-law, Tom Morey.  Christine was born February 12, 1957, in St. Joseph, MO, to Horace and Eleanor (Huff) Merrick.

Prior to retirement she had various positions with Heartland Medical Center/ Mosaic Life Care.&nbsp; Her passion was her family and she cherished her pictures.

Christine married Kendall Coleman on July 11, 2008, and he survives.&nbsp; Also surviving are two sons Dustin Hook (Amber), Jason Hook (April); three grandsons, Jordan, Austin, and Colton; one granddaughter Jade; two great-granddaughters Gracelyn and Emma; two sisters Mary Owens (Joe), Carol Huff; three brothers, Steve Merrick, Cohen Merrick (Kelly), Joseph Merrick; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Shelia Owens, Debbie Huff; four brothers, Frank, Charles, Robert, and Allen Huff.

Sylvia was born on August 24, 1921 in rural Robinson, Kansas to Ole Tobias and Inga (Pederson) Johnson.&nbsp; She was a homemaker and lived her entire married life on a farm in the Wolf River Valley in rural Troy.

Sylvia was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bendena and the Moray Home Extension Unit.

She married George Rush on December 27, 1946 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Everest, Kansas.&nbsp; He preceded her in death on February 2, 2015.&nbsp; Sylvia was also preceded by her parents, sister, Anna Olson, brother-in-law, Jimmy Olson, son-in-law, Frank Tubbs, great-grandson, David Samuelson.

Raenae married Russell B. Meers on June 1, 2001. He survives of the home.

She lived her life as a servant, leader and builder of the kingdom for the Lord. She was devoted to Breakthrough Global Ministries.

A lifelong entrepreneur, Raenae owned and operated many businesses, including Absolute Hard Surface Cleaning and Good Things Created For You.

She loved to travel and spend quality time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Tim. Harold was a school bus driver for the Kansas City, Missouri Public School District for many years.

He loved fishing and spending time with family.

Lori Lynn More, 54, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, October 8, 2021 at Mosaic Life Care. 

She was born October 12, 1966 in St. Joseph, daughter of Carrie and Clifton Grooms. Lori had worked as a CNA. Her hobbies included playing online games and Facebook. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Grooms, Sr. &nbsp;

Survivors include, her mother, Carrie Ballard, children, Cody Bozarth, Christy Bozarth, Eddie Joe (Jayla Bressman) Bozarth, and Sami Bozarth, sister, Kelly Grooms, and brother, Clifton "Rudy" (Roberta) Grooms, all of St. Joseph, and 8 grandchildren.

Danny Lynn Swope 68, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 in Saint Joseph, MO. 

He was born March 12, 1953 in St. Joseph, MO, son of Hazel and James Swope. He graduated from DeKalb High School. He worked at State of Missouri as a Corrections Officer, retiring after 20 years of service. He was a Raider Fan, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping, with his daughter, sons and grandson,  He had numerous friends, and a 2nd dad to many of his sons and daughters buddies. 

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Patricia Marie Miller and Bonnie Burgess, and a brother, J.R. Swope. 

Survivors include, sons, Chad Swope (fiancé Bobbi Jo Pendleton) and Michael Swope both of St. Joseph, MO, daughter, Natalie (Cliff) Waters, Thibodaux, LA, grandson, Jaxon Swope, and granddaughter, Madison Kovac, and his loving dog, Wade.
