Reona Ruth Johnson, 76, of Weston, MO passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 9,2022.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Greene, Pastor of the First Christian Church, Atchison officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Reona was born on Oct. 13th, 1945, in Atchison, KS the daughter of Everett E. and Ruth E. (Wood) Winzer, Sr. She was raised on a family farm in Doniphan County, KS, she graduated from the Atchison High School in 1963. She was married to Theodore K. Johnson on Oct. 3rd, 1965, at the First Christian Church, Atchison, KS. Reona and Ted went on to raise three children at a farm near Rushville, MO before moving to Weston, MO in 2011. Reona loved to garden, growing wonderful vegetables and beautiful flowers throughout the years. She was a talented cook and baker, lovingly passing her knowledge to the next generation. She was an avid reader, collecting and reading thousands of books in her lifetime. She enjoyed numerous hobbies over the years and loved keeping up with her many Facebook groups and friends. Her greatest happiness came from her children, grandchildren and great grandson. She loved them unconditionally and to the fullest, always there to help when needed, always reminding them of her love. She will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 56 years, Ted Johnson, of the home in Weston, MO, two daughters Cyndi (Brandon) Hamilton, Weston, MO and Jennifer (Chris) Johnson, Liberty, MO, a brother Robert (Ollie) Winzer, Atchison, KS, eight grandchildren Tara & Taylor Johnson, Kyle (Katy), Miranda, Luke, and Aiden Hamilton, and Nicolas & Noah Johnson, and one great grandson Jeremiah Horvath.
Her parents, a son Theodore K. “Teddy” Johnson, brothers Everett and Aaron Winzer and sister Nora Jean Wohlgemuth preceded her in death.
