She was born March 1, 1938 to James and Elizabeth (Elam) Kline, Sr. Elaine married John Chirieleison June 9, 1959; he survives of the home. She was a Southwestern Bell operator from 1957-1980, Elaine worked in maintenance at Sherwood medical from 1984-93, and she also worked for the school district for 7 years.

Elaine enjoyed having family gatherings. She loved dancing, gardening, and taking photos.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jim Kline and sister, Caroline Klawuhn.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, John; children, John M. Chirieleison, Debbie Stagner; grandchildren, Caprice, Kendall, and Keri Stagner, Darlisa Finney (Brett), Gabrielle Chirieleison; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Penland, Kaiser and Kolten Finney; brothers, Bud Kline (Sandy), John Kline (Patty), Fred Kline, (Jan), Marilyn Browning; Elizabeth Atkinson (L.J.), numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Fred loved camping at Yellowstone National Park and attending his children’s sporting events.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ethel; a son, Michael; and a brother, Johnny.

Ethel Mae Thom, 94, St. Joseph, Missouri, went to be with her Lord Sunday, December 20, 2020.

She was born July 25, 1926 to Eaver and Daisy (Downs) Hegstrom. Ethel married H.B. Thom September 8, 1946; he preceded her in death March 31, 1997. She was a devout Christian. Her mother was a founding member of the Wyatt Park Christian Church; Ethel followed in her footsteps and became a lifelong member of the church and the Women’s Fellowship. She was also a member of American Business Women’s Association, St. Joseph Garden Club and Women’s St. Joseph Bowling Association.

Ethel loved her family and spending time together during holiday and birthday celebrations, baking, playing games and having grandkids sleepovers.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles, Everett, Harold and infant sister, Mabel.

Daniel Eugene Linebaugh 84, of Stewartsville, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 in a Saint Joseph, MO hospital. 

He was born December 6, 1936 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Estelle "Dolly" and Albert Linebaugh. He graduated from Central High School and St. Joseph Junior College. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He retired from the State of Missouri Highway department as a Senior Highway Designer. He enjoyed bowling, playing pitch, and going to the casino. He was a 32 degree Scottish Rite, a member of the Moila Shrine and a Pentecostal. 

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Matthew Linebaugh. Survivors include, wife, Dorothy Linebaugh of the home, sons, Mark (Tanya) Linebaugh, Saint Joseph, MO, and Scott (Tonya) Linebaugh, Stewartsville, MO, and daughter Katherine Linebaugh, St. Joseph, MO, four grandchildren: Michael Linebaugh, Nick Pilcher, Ashley Linebaugh, and Michael Peterson, a great-grandson, Elric Peterson, and his sister, Diane (Don) Page.

Dale Wesley Warner (92), born on July 21, 1928 in Cedar Falls, Iowa peacefully passed away on December 21, 2020 in Kansas City, Missouri after battling Covid-19. 

Dale served in the Army and then married the love of his life, Mary Margret (Richey) Warner on July 6, 1957. They resided in California where Dale worked and retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital. Dale and Mary served in ministry as the pastors of Ambassadors of Faith Christian Center in Saint Joseph where their strong faith and passion for helping those less fortunate was apparent when they launched and operated a food pantry to feed the needy in Saint Joseph. 

Dale is survived by his children, Cynde (Gregg) Hoffman, Jerry (Elizabeth Rosanne Delzer) Warner and Kevin Warner, his grandchildren Michael Warner, Debbie Warner, Benjamin Hoffman and Madison Hoffman, his sister Patricia (Mark) Pfaltzgraff, brother Howard and many nieces and nephews. 

Dale was preceded in death by his wife Mary, his sons Michael and Reggie (Lonelle) Warner, grandson Philip Duke, his parents, John Boyd and Minnie Mae (Yarrington) Warner, his brothers John Warner, Mike Warner, Bernard Warner, William Warner and sister LaDonne Hancock.

He is survived by his wife Sue and son Brian (Micky).

Howard was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Viola Shirley.

Howard received his Doctorate in Psychology from the University of South Dakota and spent thirty years as a counselor and taught psychology courses at several schools.&nbsp; He was a follower of Jesus Christ and enjoyed preaching at forty churches which he served as interim pastor.

Howard will be cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel.&nbsp; A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Martha Marie (Adams) Bearce, age 89, of Hiawatha, formerly of rural Robinson, was born on February 22, 1931, one of 12 children of Russell Adams and Alice (Steinhauer) Adams.&nbsp; She passed away on December 19, 2020, at the Hiawatha Community Hospital, Hiawatha, Kansas

Phillip O’Konski, 76, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020.

He was born October 12, 1944 to Frank A. and Lalah J (Watt) O’Konski. Phillip attended Cathedral grade school and graduated from Central High School, Class of 1962. He graduated from Missouri Western State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business. He had been employed as a purchasing manager for Union Carbide, and also was a member of the Air National Guard.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Ann Lechler. Survivors include his brother, Paul O’Konski (Sharon); and nephews, Greg and Ted O’Konski.

Natural Farewell under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home &amp; Crematory. Inurnment at a later date, Whispering Pines Cremation Garden at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Humane Society.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Steven Curtis Nelson, 73, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at his home in St. Joseph. 

He was born June 27, 1947 in Maryville, MO, son of Evelyn and Roy Nelson. He graduated from Rosendale High School, class of 1965. He married Trudy Vannaman on July 2, 1971 in St. Joseph. Steve was a Painter for St. Joseph Structural Steel and later Midland Steel. He later worked in the Shipping and Receiving Department at Wal-Mart, from which he retired. Steve was an avid dog lover, enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola and Pepsi memorabilia and he loved watching wrestling, and his soap operas. He was a member of Journey Baptist Church. 

Steven was preceded in death his parents, brothers, Ronald and Donald Nelson, sister, Marilyn Sweet and brother-in-law, Wesley Boyer. 

Survivors include, wife of 49 years, Trudy Nelson of St. Joseph, children, Matt (De) Nelson of St. Joseph, Michelle (Nick) Nelson-Smith of Oskaloosa, IA and Nick (Mykala) Nelson of St. Joseph, sister, Doris Boyer of St. Joseph, grandchildren, Quadyn, Rossi, Ashlee, Brayden, Bailee, Cylee, PJ, Brandalyn, Natali, Lincoln, Jessee, his dogs, Max and Kamo and numerous nieces and nephews.

William "Bill" Neiderhouse, 80, of St. Joseph, passed away, Saturday, December 19, 2020 in St. Joseph. 

He was born March 19, 1940 in Forest City, MO, son of Mabel and William Neiderhouse. He married Margaret Meade on October 10, 1959 in St. Joseph. Bill drove a truck delivering building supplies for many years. His hobbies included playing cards, working on cars and he was an avid KC Chiefs fan. 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Jennifer Neiderhouse and sister, Louise Newkirk. 

Survivors include, wife, Margaret Neiderhouse of the home, son, Bill Neiderhouse, Jr. of St. Joseph, daughter, Angie Nelson of St. Joseph, granddaughters, Michelle (Michael) Ray of St Joseph, and, Nicole Nelson and her fiancé Jeffrey Clarke of Madison, WI and two great-grandchildren, Brennden and Kayleigh Ray.

Jewel Harms, 102, went gladly into the waiting arms of her Lord and&nbsp; Savior on December 19, 2020. 

She grew up in a small town in southern&nbsp; Missouri and was married to Otto Harms in 1942 by his father, a&nbsp; Lutheran Minister, with Otto’s little sister playing the organ.&nbsp;

Jewel was passionate about gardening and nature and shared her artistic gifts as a floral designer. She always wore a beautiful smile on&nbsp; her face and was the eternal optimist. To the very end of her life she&nbsp; retained the ability to patiently and truly listen, and had a remarkable&nbsp; capacity to remember dates and details. An active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Jewel never wavered in her deep faith, often&nbsp; reminding us that God is in control, no matter how crazy life gets.&nbsp;

Jewel was preceded in death by Otto and survived by their children,&nbsp; Bruce, Ken and Joy, five wonderful grandchildren and nine amazing&nbsp; great grandchildren.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Her family is truly grateful for the loving services provided by the&nbsp; Freudenthal Hospice team - her band of angels. Jewel’s last words on&nbsp; this earth were, “For it is by grace that I have been saved...” (Ephesians&nbsp; 2:8-9).&nbsp;

Funeral services for family, friends and church members will be held&nbsp; graveside on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jackie Sue (Brushwood) Justus, 51, Helena, Missouri; passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at her home.

Jackie was born on January 28, 1969 in St. Joseph, Missouri.&nbsp; She was a 1987 graduate of Savannah High School.

Jackie worked at Dreamweaver Graphics for many years. She was a Christian and enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening, music and loved pets.&nbsp;

She was a loving mother, daughter, niece and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Jackie is survived by her son, Danny Justus, Jr.; mother, Sue Kitchen (Pat Townsend); father, Edgar Brushwood (Wilma); grandson, Ezra Justus;&nbsp;

brother, Robert Alan Brushwood; many aunt’s, uncle’s and cousins on both mother’s and father’s side of family.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She was a 1956 graduate of Lafayette High School.&nbsp; She spent majority of her career as an executive secretary.

Roberta married Larry W. Hixson on July 4, 1958 in St. Joseph and he preceded her in death on March 22, 2016.&nbsp; Also preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors include her children, Glen Hixson (Kathy), Cindy Hixson, Scott Hixson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Ronda Hendrix (Larry); brother Roger Jackson (Barb); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Roberta was a member of the Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church and the VFW Women's Auxillary Post 1200 in Mesa, AZ.&nbsp; She was very creative with numerous projects and would give most of her creations away.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

Services will be Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel.&nbsp; Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.&nbsp; Visitation will be Wednesday, December 23, 2020 beginning at 1:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home.

Bob was born on June 18, 1944 in Troy, Kansas to Howard and Margaret (Buch) Keller Sr.&nbsp; He was a truck mechanic all his life.&nbsp; Bob served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and the Army National Guard for 16 years.&nbsp; He served a tour in Vietnam.&nbsp; &nbsp;

He loved to fish, camp, mushroom hunt and do wood crafting.&nbsp; He loved to take rides in his truck with his faithful companion Jr. by his side.&nbsp;

Bob is a member of the V.F.W. Post #5531 of Wathena, Kansas and American Legion Post #15 of Troy, Kansas.&nbsp;

Bob married Dorothy Woosley on June 20, 1964 at the RLDS Church in Fanning, Kansas.&nbsp; She survives of the home.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Paul Keller and his wife, Pam, Tom Keller, Henry “Bill” Keller, Mikel Keller.&nbsp;

Jerry Lee Ashlock of St. Joseph passed from this life on December 17th, 2020.

A graduate of Lafayette high school class of ‘53 he majored in Civil Engineering at the University of Missouri, graduating in 1961.&nbsp; After serving in the Navy, Jerry had a successful career in construction acting as Project Engineer or Project Consultant on major construction efforts from multi-story buildings to refineries and power plants.&nbsp; He also had a passion for all forms of motorcycle racing as both a racer and promoter and owned the Savannah motocross track which held races during the 1970s.

An active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Jerry was a member of the Knights of Columbus council 571 and also took great pride in his passion of ministering to inmates at the local prison.

He is preceded in death by his father, Victor, mother ,Pauline (née Richardson), and brother Aden. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Barbara (née Grinlinton), his son Derek his wife Susan, grandson Jacob and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, the 22nd of December followed by a saying of the rosary at 9:30 AM, funeral mass at 10:00AM and burial at Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following.

Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.

Michael J. Moyer, 72, Country Club, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020.

He was born June 3, 1948 to Maurice and Louise (Willmore) Moyer. Michael graduated from Lafayette High School in 1966. He obtained a bachelor’s degree from Missouri Western and a masters from Northwest. Michael had a long career in management. He was an office manager for Wonder Bread, plant manager for Sherwood Medical for over 20 years, engineering manager for Boehringer Ingelheim, project manager for RS Electric, then site manager for Se Tech, which was contracted by Harley Davidson in Kansas City.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, being outdoors, and traveling. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Dennis Moyer. Survivors include daughters, Lindsay Moyer (Kendall), Libby Moyer (Dustin); grandchildren, Ryder, Brecklyn, Keely; brothers, Stephen Moyer, Thomas Moyer (Patty); the love of his life, Pam Ousley; mother of his children, Cindy Moyer.

The family would like to thank the Mosaic LTACH and Mosaic Life Care Hospice for the exceptional care of Michael.

The loss is immeasurable, but so is the love he left behind.

As Tim would say “I’m here ain’t&nbsp; I?”

&nbsp;Early on November 18th, 2020 heaven got a bit more interesting with the passing of Tim McPherson.

Tim was born on January 12, 1960 in Nowata Oklahoma to a loving mother Jolene and a big brother Ron McPherson. Early on Jolene remarried to Mac McPherson and expanded the family to include Rick, Linda, and Diane. In his youth he was a fantastic athlete and played football for the Douglass Bulldogs in Douglas Kansas.

&nbsp;In 1980 and in 1983 his sons were born, Luke and Jacob McPherson. He loved to be around people, making them laugh, and always had a way with words. He worked at Coleman in Wichita Kansas as a younger man before moving to Fairview Kansas. Tim always loved to fish, camp, and to be out in nature. He was a Dad, Grandpa, friend, and purveyor of some of the best one liner’s you have ever heard. A favorite of his children’s was “Mmmmmmm”.

&nbsp;You will be missed dearly and never forgotten. Quoting from one of his favorite songs “I’m going where there’s no depression, to a better land that is free from care, I’ll leave this world of toil and trouble my homes in heaven and I’m going there.” Shine on you crazy diamond! We love you Dad.

Leonard David Schussler, 79, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020.

He was born July 14, 1941 in St. Joseph, Missouri to John and Wilma (Morris) Schussler. Leonard married Wanita Fern Jackson November 17, 1961. She preceded him in death March of 2008. He was a member of Francis Street First United Methodist Church and Eagles Lodge. Leonard enjoyed cars and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his sons, Leonard David Schussler, Jr., Bradley Schussler; and his parents.

Survivors include sons, Daryl Schussler, Stuart Schussler (Suzette), Doug Schussler (Amy); grandchildren, Zackery and Emily Schussler; brother, Lowell D. Schussler; numerous nieces and nephews.

Leonard David Schussler, 79, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020. He was born July 14, 1941 in St. Joseph, Missouri to John and Wilma (Morris) Schussler. Leonard married Wanita Fern Jackson November 17, 1961. She preceded him in death March of 2008. He was a member of Francis Street First United Methodist Church and Eagles Lodge. Leonard enjoyed cars and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Leonard David Schussler, Jr., Bradley Schussler; and his parents. Survivors include sons, Daryl Schussler, Stuart Schussler (Suzette), Doug Schussler (Amy); grandchildren, Zackery and Emily Schussler; brother, Lowell D. Schussler; numerous nieces and nephews. She was born September 14, 1968 to Kerr and Judy Breckenridge, Jr. Tammie married Mark Wright October 24, 2010; he survives of the home. For years she worked for her father’s cleaning business. Tammie was an animal and nature person. She loved music, especially the band Poison.

She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

Additional survivors include her children, Jacob Wayne Hughes (Amelia), Jordan Matthew McMillen, Jada Alexa Mae McMillen, Jacob Floyd Wright, Jessica Lynn Wright, Kyle Wayne Culp; sisters, Wendie Davidson, Kristie Sybert (Chase); and former husband, Eric McMillen.

Nancy Zebelean, 87, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020.

She was born July 18, 1933 to Charles and America (Runyun) Townsend. Nancy married Samuel Zebelean, Sr. May 9, 1953; he survives of the home. She was of the Catholic faith, formerly attended St. James Catholic Church. Nancy was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, where she was the former registrar of the local chapter. She enjoyed genealogy.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Doolan; and brother, Ralph Townsend.

Additional survivors include her children, Samuel Zebelean, Jr., St. Joseph, Missouri, Lee Ann Ramsay (Fred), St. Joseph, Missouri, Daniel Charles Zebelean (DeAnn), Salt Lake City, Utah, Mary Ann Dudley (Robert), St. Joseph, Missouri; 8 grandchildren, Samuel Zebelean, III, Ryan Ramsay, Chris Ramsay, Danielle Zebelean, Devin Zebelean, Denali Zebelean, Aaron Dudley, Jacob Dudley; 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Laurie Lynn Farrell, of St. Joseph, 58, formerly of Denver, Colorado and New York City, passed away unexpectedly at her home, Wednesday December 16, 2020.

She was born October 12th, 1962, in New York to James H Farrell and Kathlyn Gail (Shannon) Farrell.

Laurie was a talented artist and received a Bachelors degree from New York School of Fine Art. She was currently working as a Designer for the St. Joseph News-Press.&nbsp; She was previously employed with Roderick Sign Company as a Graphic Designer.

She loved her family and friends and took pride in her 20 years of sobriety and her work with the Alcoholics Anonymous community.

Laurie was preceded in death by her Mother Kathlyn who died in 1980.&nbsp;

Survivors include: her Father James H Farrell, her Step Mother Pamela (Crockett) Farrell; her siblings; Lee Ann Farrell, James Patrick Farrell, Daniel Joseph Farrell, Thomas David Farrell, Chad Eugene Brown and Kimberly Gail Farrell; several aunts, uncles, cousins; two nieces and two nephews, three grand-nephews and two grand-nieces; and too many friends to count. She was especially close to her Aunt Edie.&nbsp; Her cats Penny and Brody will especially miss Laurie.
