Anthony Gene Reynolds (he goes by Tony) 62, of St. Joseph, MO (formally of Gentryville, Stanberry, King City, and Otterville, MO.), passed away unexpectedly on December 13th, 2025 in Bethany, MO.

Tony was born on January 27th, 1962, in St. Joseph, MO., to parents Charles Gene & Merna Kay (Marsh) Reynolds. Tony was the oldest of 2 sons. He had one brother, Shane Reynolds. Tony loved spending time with his grandparents, Russ & Pauline Ballard.

Tony was a proud dad; he had 3 children. His 2 daughters came early in life. The oldest, Tanea (Ronnie) Shanks of Cameron, MO. Tara (Justin) Borden of Lincoln, NE. His only son, Tristen Reynolds, was born later in Tony’s life. He was never afraid to show his children the soft side of himself, and he was so proud of them. With a growing family of grandchildren. Tony had 9 grandchildren & 1 on the way. He was excited about his son having a son.

Tony enjoyed cooking, fishing, car shows, playing cards, listening to music, and drawing. He often made his kids cards with his amazing drawings for special occasions in life. Tony worked many jobs thru the years, but his favorite was painting homes. He loved doing detailed work and enjoyed making something old look beautiful again. He was also a bit of a clean freak.

Most will remember Tony by his rugged looks, his curly long hair, tattoos, and his big smile, and loud laugh. He was very witty & quick to crack a joke to lighten the mood. While life was not always easy or kind to him. He would go out of his way to include everyone and to lighten their load. He loved hard and unconditionally. He didn’t judge others by their shortcomings.

Tonys parents, grandparents, and many other family members are waiting to welcome him home. Tony is survived by his three children, Tanea (Ronnie) Shanks, Tara (Justin) Borden, and Tristen Reynolds, his brother Shane, his 9 grandchildren, 5 cousins, 1 uncle, and many nieces and nephews.

Tony loved music and he would have loved to have his story end with a song, so below are some song lyrics in which he loved and this song played as his kids said goodbye and got into their vehicle. It was a sign that he was ok.

Lyrics from PINK FLOYD...wish you were here.

So, so you think you can tell,
Heaven from Hell?
Blue Skies from pain?
can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
a smile from a veil?
do you think you could tell?

How I wish, How I wish you were here
We're just 2 lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year
Running over the same old ground, what have we found
the same old fears, wish you were here
