Margaret A. Moffet, 91, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on April 27, 2024.
She was born in Modesto, California. Married to John A. Moffet for 51 years until his death in 2001.
Margaret moved to St. Joseph, Missouri in the early 1950’s. She became a LPN in 1963 and graduated from MWSC as an RN in 1975. She worked at Sister’s Hospital for many years and then became co- administrator and director of nursing at Green Acres Independent Living for 20 years, retiring in 1991. She was a volunteer for hospice for many years and was an Elder in the Community of Christ Church. She volunteered as a nurse for youth and family camps at Camp Farwesta.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Edgar and Salena Carlson, two brothers Leland and Wesley, a dear sister-in-law Annibelle, her husband John, and three children Joanne, Diane, and Lawrence.
She is survived by a brother, Daryl Carlson, daughter, Beth (Blane) Booker, 6 grandchildren, Brandon (Christine) Booker, Jana (Nathaniel) Webb, Kara Booker, Jason Russell, Angela Russell Storms, and Eric Russell, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and close family friend, Nancy Edwards.
She was a devoted Christian, a voracious reader, sincere believer in lifelong learning and loving mother and grandmother.
The family would like to thank the director of Corby Place, Chris Burris, and the staff and also Three Oaks Hospice for their loving care.
