Sarah Mae Maldonado, 62, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Born on April 17, 1962, in Big Springs, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of James Ray Lancaster and Nancy Jewel Meeks.
Sarah grew up in a lively household with her three older sisters, Nancy, Susie, Eva Lancaster, and a stepsister, Michele Bower of Statesville, Arkansas. In 1979, she married the love of her life, Luis R. Maldonado. Their union was blessed with four children: James, Jose, Vicki, and Christopher Maldonado.
Known for her generous heart and deep love for her family, Sarah cherished every moment with her children. She had a particular fondness for soda pop, chips, chocolate bars, and especially chocolate cake.
Sarah's family grew with the addition of nine grandchildren: Kasey, Nicole, Scottie, Logan, Ava, Marci, Amy, Marcus, M.G., Gabriella and Ashin, and five great-grandchildren: Alora, Asher, Levi, Lucas. She was thrilled to learn she would soon welcome her sixth great-grandchild, Damien.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Luis R. Maldonado; her parents, James Ray Lancaster and Nancy Jewel Meeks; and her older sister, Nancy Lancaster.
Sarah is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and sisters Susie and Eva Lancaster, and stepsister Michele Bower. Her legacy of love and warmth will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
