Ethel Rosetta Maddox, 73, of St. Joseph, MO passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023 at her home. She was born April 19, 1950 in St. Joseph, daughter of Lottie Bailey.
Ethel married Tommie Maddox on March 3, 1989. She worked many years as a Nurses Aide. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially at cookouts and family get-together's. Ethel was a member Mitchell Park Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by mother, Lottie Bailey, her daughters, Sherry Byers and Connie Rose-Scott, brother, Francis Bailey and sisters, Emma May Bailey and Winona Bailey.
Survivors include her husband, Tommie Maddox of the home, her children, Nancy (Larry) Byers of Bennington, NE, Billy Hurt, Jr. of Council Bluffs, IA, and Roger Scott, Jr. of St. Joseph, brother, Jimmie Bailey of Highland, KS, 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the Rupp Funeral Home. A private family service and Interment will be at the Mount Auburn Cemetery.
