Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe visited Second Harvest Community Food Bank in Saint Joseph Tuesday, for a tour of recent upgrades completed in July, and a meet and greet with Second Harvest's staff and board members.

Kehoe discussed his history working on food trucks and with Central Missouri Food Bank, before expressing his preference for creating a culture of a "hand-up, not a hand-out".
"...Always have that security blanket, but to try to also provide a way out from underneath that blanket. Missourians, I travel this entire state, and I can tell you, want to provide for their families, and don't want to have to take [that help]. We're working really hard to try and identify ways to help them get to the next level. They want that, and we want that as well."
He thanked the staff of Second Harvest, saying they "show Missourians who Missouri really is by helping each other out... You do amazing work."
