Linda Lou George, 76, a lifelong resident of Savannah, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Linda was born on January 30, 1949, in Maryville, MO to Harold Walter & Clara May (Oliver) Martin. Linda attended school in Savannah and graduated with the class of 1967. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Thomas (Tommy) Ray George on May 6, 1967, at the First Christian Church in Atchison, KS. Their nearly 58-year union was blessed with two children, Melinda Sue and Timothy Martin, three grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Linda’s family was her most cherished possession. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and care giver to many family members and friends.
Linda’s love for flowers lead her to buy her own Flower Shop – Linda’s Flowers and Gifts – that she lovingly ran for over 5 years, after working there for several years prior. Her love for flowers continued for the remainder of her life. If you ever drove by and saw Tommy and Linda sitting out on their front porch or down by the pond, they were always surrounded by her beautiful flowers.
Linda had a caregiver’s heart as evidenced by all the family members she took care of and then later when the grandchildren started to arrive. No one could make Linda smile more than when she had the grandchildren sitting on her chair with her. There was always room on Grandma/Grammy’s lap, no matter how big they got.
Linda is survived by her husband, Tommy, of the home; daughter, Melinda (Kyle) Morrison and Son, Tim (Angie) George both of Savannah, MO; grandchildren, Cody (Tasha Rose) Morrison, Caleb Morrison, and Berkley George; great-grandchildren, Harley Morrison and Maverick Krueger as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members and close friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Clara; and her Sisters, Nancy Preston and Donna Smith.
Memorial visitation and family receiving hours will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Breit Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. Inurnment will be at a later date for the immediate family.
