Francis Thomas Till, 85, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024.
He was born September 1, 1939 in St. Joseph to Adam and Rita (Kessler) Till. He grew up in St. Joseph and graduated from Central High School in 1957.
Francis married the love of his life, Kathy J. Palmer, and they shared over 50 years together. She survives of the home.
He was an incredibly hard worker, from his job at Standard Oil Company, to owning his own jobbership, to farming.
Francis loved being outdoors and everything about farming, especially spring planting and the fall harvest. He was truly in his element while out in the fields.
He enjoyed camping, and in their younger years, Kathy and Francis liked to go square dancing at the YMCA.
Francis was a lifetime member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, a parish his family helped establish.
The life he led leaves a legacy for his family, one of hard work and being a true family man.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and his wife, James and Martha Till; and sister, Christine McKnight.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; children, Debra Till and Frank Till (Carrie); grandchildren, Frankie (Alle), Alyssa, Marcelo, and Mario; a great-granddaughter on the way; sister, JoAn Edgar (Roger); brother-in-law, Leroy McKnight; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends; and his beloved cat, Squirt.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 A.M. Monday, December 2, St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. Parish Rosary 4:00 P.M. Sunday, December 1, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where the family will gather with friends 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
