Linda Kay Blagg, 72, of Atchison, KS, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023, at The University of Kansas Health St. Francis in Topeka, KS, surrounded by her family.The memorial service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, with The Rev. Dr. Rachel Dannar as officiant. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Atchison County Community Health Clinic or NEKCAP and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Words of comfort for the family may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.Linda was born December 1, 1950, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of James and Mildred (Rule) Blagg. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1969. Linda attended Pittsburg State University and The University of Kansas. She worked as a clerk for Missouri Pacific up until Missouri Pacific Railroad and Union Pacific merged. From there she worked at Atchison Leather Products and Benedictine up until her retirement. Linda was terribly independent, there was nothing she wouldn’t try to fix herself, anywhere from plumbing to carpentry. Sometimes it worked out and sometimes not so much! She was an extremely generous person, especially to her nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces, whom she loved very much. She and her partner Bill Kilander loved to take trips. They went to Mexico several times and they also went to Michigan where they would spend time with Amy and Shelley (Bill’s nieces). Linda also liked gardening and especially her flowers. She loved KU basketball!She will be missed dearly by her sister, Bobe and Steve Durkin, their kids, Stefanie and Steven Gardner, Max and Carlin, Stevie and Nikki Durkin, Marley and Patrick, Mike and Haley Ross, Jacob and Regan, Mindy Meisenburg, Bree, Nate, and Avery.She was preceded by her parents James “Jiggs” and Mildred “Millie” Blagg, a brother James “Mike” Blagg and her life partner Bill Kilander.
