Harvey Alton Heerlein, 70, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026 at his home.
He was born July 20, 1955 in St. Joseph, son of Roberta (Frogge) and Maurice Heerlein. He attended Central High School. Harvey was a skilled Journeyman Carpenter. He enjoyed woodworking, going fishing, working in the garden, and going to the casino. He loved the outdoors, and you would often find him sitting on his front porch or spending time with his grandchildren.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ed Heerlein, sister, Robin Harris, and grandson, David Lee Burns.
Survivors include: his loving wife, Doneta Heerlein of the home, children, Jennifer (David) Burns of St. Joseph, Gerald Alexander of St. Joseph, Ashley (Bryon) Hector of South Carolina, Tabitha Heerlein of St. Joseph, Tyler Heerlein of St. Joseph, Erin (Michael) Fleenor of St. Joseph, Emeli (Chris) Ham of St. Joseph, and Elayna Danner of Parnell, MO, and 11 grandchildren.
Mr. Heerlein has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Parkway Christian Fellowship, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Inurnment to take place at a later date at Blakely Cemetery. Memorials are requested to Parkway Christian Fellowship.
