Brian Michael Hollan, 51, passed away at his home in Maysville, Missouri, on March 5, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Brian was born on October 15, 1974, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Michael Hollan and Carol Park Hollan. He graduated from Benton High School before proudly serving in the United States Navy, where he was stationed in Bremerton, Washington. After returning home, Brian worked as an electrician with IBEW Local 545 before joining Nestlé Purina, where he dedicated many years of hard work. He married Janet Hollan in November 2019.
Brian didn't need much to have a good day. He loved hunting, fishing, sitting around a fire, or listening to a good rainstorm. He didn't really care where he was as long as he was sharing drinks, stories, and laughter with the people he loved. What mattered most to him was having the people he loved close by.
“Family is everything” was something Brian often said, and anyone who knew him knew he meant it. He loved his children deeply and treasured the memories they made together, memories they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. His grandchildren, Blair and Casen, were his pride and joy. He shared an incredibly special bond with his mother, Carol. Losing her to ALS in 2019 was one of the greatest heartbreaks of his life, and he carried her memory with him every day.
Brian is survived by his wife, Janet Hollan; his children, Tevin (Hailey) Hollan, Alexis Hollan, and Britanee Hollan (Quincy Nichols); his stepchildren, Brittney (Blake) Siddens and Lucas Dunham; his grandchildren, Blair, Casen, Landon, Arleigh, Cale, Rownan, Alivia, Huxley, and Adley; his father, Michael Hollan; his uncle, Gary (Mary) Park; his sister, Kimberly (Mark) Clark; his nephews, Tyler Clark, Ethan Baldwin, and Henry Clark; his niece, Taylor Baldwin; and many extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Park Hollan, and his sister, Stacey Hollan.
Brian’s absence will be felt in more ways than we can count, but so will his presence—in the stories we tell, the memories we share, and the traditions that will continue because of him. The life he lived and the people he loved are his legacy, and that is something ALS could never take away.
