In the midst of tornado season in Missouri, and following Buchanan County's first tornado warning of the year, the St. Joseph Fire Department is getting prepared.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Officials with the St. Joseph Fire Department say the department is preparing to be on standby to help with rescue, recovery, and cleanup efforts, focusing more on recovery and rescue.&nbsp;

According to the University of Missouri Climate Center, on average, the Show-Me state experiences just over 30 tornadoes a year.
