Donnie Guy Young, age 80, of Maysville, Missouri passed away on June 14. 2025. He was born September 21, 1944, in the Methodist Hospital in St. Joseph, MO, to Donald G. Young and Dorothy (Files) Young.

He attended school at both Amity and Maysville and was a member of the graduating class of 1964. He loved sports and played football, basketball, and ran track.

On April 29, 1966, he was united in marriage to Janet M. Horsman, and they were married for 59 years. Although there were no children born of this union, he was blessed with being able to share the lives of many Nieces and Nephews who he loved.

He served four years with the Missouri National Guard.

He started working for Well’s Implement John Deere Dealership in 1967 where he remained as parts manager until his retirement in 2011. He enjoyed serving the area farmers and took pride in always having the parts they needed and would go the extra mile to get a part if it was not in stock. He made many friends in his years with the dealership with the farmers in the community.

For many years he was a season ticket holder of the Kansas City Chiefs and the NASCAR Motor Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas.  He spent many memorable days with friends at both events.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Lonnie R. Young and Jerry D. Young; and nephew, Jimmy Young.

He is survived by his wife and brothers, Gary (Janice) Young of Versailles, Missouri, Dennis (Kim) Young of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Dewayne Young of Maysville, and Michael Young of St. Joseph.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Turner Family Funeral Home with burial immediately following at Oak Lawn Cemetery.Visitation will be one hour before the service.
