Helen Schroeder, 101, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
She was born September 22, 1922 in Bethany, Missouri to Truman and Letha (Butcher) Hagler.
Helen married Alvin Allen Schroeder on June 6, 1952. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2018.
She was a nurse’s aide at Methodist Hospital in the Maternity Ward for 18 years.
Helen loved to garden, bake and cook. She combined these interests in her prolific canning and jelly-making. She also enjoyed doing embroidery and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Alvin; her parents; daughter, Betty Taylor; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Schroeder; son-in-law, Larry Ebling; and sister, Opal Thompson.
Survivors include children, Allen Schroeder, Randy Schroeder, Barbara Ebling, Bonnie Glidewell (Tim), and Timmy Schroeder; son-in-law, Mike Taylor; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved cockatiel, Freddie.
