Steven Ray Conroy, 72, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Mosaic Life Care.
He was born July 12, 1953 in St. Joseph, son of Ruth and Marion Conroy. Steve married Sharon Hale, sharing many years of happiness together. Steve enlisted in the US Navy in 1971. Following his time in the Navy, he worked several jobs, primarily as a Painting Contractor. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, was a gun enthusiast and enjoyed shooting, playing music and was always happy to devote his time to helping others. Steve was a member of Word of Life Church.
He was preceded in death by father and step-mother, Marion and Ann Conroy, mother and step-father, Ruth and Bob Taylor, his wife, Sharon Conroy, son, David Conroy, and sister-in-law, Lonna Conroy.
Survivors include children, Tim (Erica) Conroy, Steven Conroy and Lisa (Lee) Bressman, all of St. Joseph, brothers, Roger Conroy of St. Joseph and Mike (Christy) Conroy of Savannah, MO, sister, Tina Taylor of St Joseph, his girlfriend, Sherrie Meers of Mound City, MO, grandchildren, Teala, Stephanie, Haley, Tyler, Tanner and Bailey and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside Funeral Service and Interment with Navy Funeral Honors will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2026 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Dave Mejia officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Steven Conroy Memorial Fund, c/o Rupp Funeral Home.
