St. Joseph reports an additional COVID death along with drop in positivity rate

The St. Joseph Health Department reports an additional coronavirus-related death while also stating the Buchanan County positivity rate has dropped by nearly a full percentage point.

St. Joseph health officials report a woman in her 60’s died after contracting COVID-19.

The health department reports 164 new coronavirus cases from Monday and over the weekend. It says the positivity rate has decreased by 0.84% to 14.02%

Mosaic Life Care reports it is treating 47 COVID-19 patients in its system, all at the St. Joseph hospital.

The vaccination rate for Buchanan County residents remains about the same with 20.7% of the county residents fully vaccinated.

Andrew County reports 17 new coronavirus cases with 148 active cases; a total of 2,600 cases since the pandemic began.

Doniphan County, Kansas reports 1,198 total cases.
