Caroline Ann (Miller) Harris, of Atchison, KS, passed peacefully on February 18, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
Mass of Christian burial to celebrate and remember Caroline’s life will be Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, beginning at 9:45 a.m. until the start of the rosary at 10:45 prior to mass. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Wathena, KS. Memorials may be left to St. Benedict Catholic School, Maur Hill-Mount Academy or Mount St. Scholastica. Cremation care entrusted to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.
Caroline was born the daughter of Leo and Dorothy Miller on December 18, 1945, in Wathena, KS, one of eight children. She attended Randolph School and graduated from Mount St. Scholastica Academy in 1963. She moved to Santa Monica, CA, where she married Michael J. Harris. They returned to Kansas after five years, settled in Atchison and raised their four children.
Caroline was a member of St. Benedict Parish, Sacred Heart Church and was a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society. Later, she attended St. Joseph Church, and she was a part of the weekly rosary group. She was an active parishioner and volunteered her time and talents at Sacred Heart Thrift Store to support Catholic schools.
Caroline started Backroad Atlas, a local home decorating store in 2015, with her oldest daughter. Backroad Atlas was a perfect place for her to display her talents in bargain hunting and furniture rehab. She was a very creative, talented and loving soul who found her greatest joy in her grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children; Angela Harris-Spurlock; Mick Harris (Geri); Kelly Siebert (Jon); Charley Harris (Liz); and eleven grandchildren; four siblings, Ken Miller (Telly), Howard Miller, Mary Lea Krousa (Bill) and Margie Begley. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Ruthie Miller; and two brothers, Omer Miller and Morris Miller.
