Lloyd Franklin Hibbs, 86, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
He was born on May 16, 1938 to James and Marie Hibbs in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Lloyd leaves behind his children, Terry McLemore, Dawn Fife (Matt), and April Gienapp; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Billie Ann Wheeler, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and beloved wife, Sharon LaRae Peterson, in a union that began on November 10, 1956, and continued until her passing in October of 2024. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, James Hibbs, Gerald "Rolla" Hibbs, and Viola Luke.
A proud serviceman, Lloyd honored his country in the United States Marines. His skills and passions were diverse; he enjoyed the craftsmanship of woodworking, working on cars, fishing, biking, camping under the stars, conquering video games, and family trips to the Lake of the Ozarks. His community benefited from his spirit of giving through his active contribution to the Bikes for Kids program with the police department.
