arol T. (Andres) Johnson, 72, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully Monday, November 13, 2023.
Carol was born on October 4, 1951, to Robert W. and Helen V. (Rogers) Andres. She attended St. Patrick's Grade School and Bishop LeBlond High School.
She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Carol married Donald Johnson on July 24, 1976. Carol worked at SST before retiring. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and her animals. She would take care of any and all animals that crossed her path.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Eddie and Roger Andres; brother-in-law Angelo Scalisi; and nephew Michael Gilley.
Survivors include husband Don and two children, John (Kim) Hontz, Virginia Johnson (Brian), former daughter-in-law Jeanette Hontz; four grandchildren, Joshua Hontz, Victoria Johnson, Jenna Hontz, Braeden Brushwood; great-granddaughter Charlee-Ann Brushwood; siblings, Bobby (Lola) Andres, Helen Jo (Fred)Gilley, Sheila Scalisi; sister-in-law Manuela Andres; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many childhood friends who became family to her.
The family suggests memorials to St. Patrick's Church Bell Tower Fund or the St. Joseph Animal Shelter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Church (12th and Jackson). Interment to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 5:30 pm Friday, November 17, with family visitation from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
