3 ejected, 5 hospitalized after van rolls in Daviess County

DAVIESS COUNTY—Five people were injured in an accident just before 11p.m. Wednesday in Daviess County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Chevy Uplander driven by Jessica I. Wright, 30, Whittemore, Iowa, was northbound on Interstate 35 three miles northwest of Winston.

The van traveled off the west side of the road into the median and driver overcorrected. The van returned to the road and rolled off the east side of the road. Three of the occupants were ejected.

Daviess County ambulance transported Wright, 19-year-old Russell Wright of Whittemore to Cameron Regional Medical Center and a 7-year-old boy from Whittemore to Children's Mercy.

Cameron ambulance transported two other passengers Johnny Wright, 42, Whittemore and Carolann Cook, 53, Algona, Iowa, to Liberty Hospital. The three adult passengers were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
