It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Catey Justus, 36, of Maysville, MO, who left this world November 20, 2025.

Catey was born to Robert Leroy Justus Jr and Jennifer Anne (Grubb) Justus in Harrisonville, MO. Catey was the youngest daughter of five children. Known for her wonderful sense of humor, huge smile and infectious giggle, Catey was a loving granddaughter, daughter and mother, a beloved sister and aunt, and a devoted friend to many. She was a 2008 graduate from Maysville High School, played junior high basketball and was a junior high cheerleader for the Wolverines. Some of her fondest memories were of school friends, and she kept lasting friendships with many. She was employed as a housekeeper for three years at Sunset Home, a residential care facility in Maysville. She loved her job, forming great friendships with her coworkers and the many residents she came to know with affection. She loved her family and friends with a soft and tender heart, always ready with a warm hug and “I love you”.

Open to adventure, she shared the love of road trips with her mom and sister, Joanna. Over the years, Catey took several trips to California to visit family, enjoying trips to the beach, family gatherings, amusement parks, and site-seeing–she treasured all the happy memories she made. All her life, she was an avid animal lover, especially her doggies that she cherished. She, like her brother, BJ, brought many animals home over the years. In more recent years, she became an outdoorswoman, enjoying campfires and nature like her brother, Adam, spending many days or nights fishing either alone or with friends, proudly sharing her catches on her social media. She was also a proud mom of two beautiful children, Conner, 15, and little “Mil-Mil” Millie. She loved both with all her heart, never wavering in her love and devotion to them both.

Catey and Millie not only looked so much alike, their sweet, silly, kind personalities were also very similar. Both were extremely outgoing and loved to make people laugh, looking to brighten anyone’s day.

They are lovingly remembered and survived by son, Conner Lillard, Cameron, MO; mother, Jennifer Justus, Maysville, MO; sisters, Joanna (Mike) Kernes, Stanberry, MO; Heather (Rick) Justus-Smith, St. Joseph, MO; brothers, Robert “BJ” Justus III, Cameron, MO; Adam Justus, Charleston, MO; nephews and nieces, Michael Kernes, Deven (Kristina) Hays, Brooke Hays, and Justine Hays.

There are so many who feel the loss of Catey and Millie, and due to the outpouring of generosity and love, a memorial fund has been set up at Independent Farmers Bank, Maysville:
