Terry Lee Smith, 66, of Union Star, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, in a St. Joseph, MO hospital. Born on November 14, 1958 in Rushville, Missouri, he was the son of the late Deana and Francis Smith. Terry married Valerie Smith on November 20, 1976, and she survives him at their home.
Terry worked as a roofer in the construction industry, and was known for his love of working on projects and helping family and friends with theirs. He enjoyed home improvement and staying busy, as well as watching Nascar.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Deana Ruth Trant, father, Francis O'Neal Smith, son, Jacob L. Smith, brother, Robert Smith, and sister, Joyce Taylor. He is survived by his wife Valerie, two sons, Jason (Shannon) Smith of St. Joseph, MO, and Joshuah Smith (Daniel Hernandez), brother, Richard Smith of St. Joseph, MO, twin brother, Gary Smith of Rushville, MO, two grandchildren, Preston Smith and Mackenzie Smith, and three great-grandchildren, Angel, Alex, and Gabriel.
The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 pm on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the Rupp Funeral Home. He has been cremated under the care and direction of the Rupp Funeral Home.
