Northwest's Owen, Western's Vaval earn preseason honors from College Football America Yearbook

Northwest Missouri State offensive tackle Tanner Owen has been named to the 2020 College Football America Yearbook Division II Preseason Starting Lineup, CFA's version of an All-America team.

Owen (Kearney, Missouri) enters his senior season having started 39 consecutive games on the offensive line to begin his collegiate career. Owen tallied AFCA First-Team All-America status in 2019. Owen is a two-time first-team all-MIAA selection on the offensive line. He bolstered a Bearcat offense that ranked No. 1 in the nation in red zone scoring offense in 2019. The Bearcats scored 40 out of 41 times in the red zone for a 97.6% scoring clip. The Bearcats ranked No. 9 in the nation in scoring offense (41.9 points per game). The Bearcats scored 38 rushing touchdowns and 29 passing touchdowns in 2019.

Twenty-seven different Division II programs are represented on this year's preseason Dream Team. Lenoir-Rhyne offensive lineman Jason Poe and Concordia-St. Paul defensive lineman Chris Garrett are, along with Notre Dame running back Jaleel McLaughlin, holdovers from the 2019 College Football America Yearbook preseason Starting Lineup.
