93-year-old hospitalized after Nodaway Co. crash

NODAWAY COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just before 5:30p.m. Friday in Nodaway County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Lincoln Towncar driven by Howard A. Carlisle, 90, Tarkio, was northbound on U.S. 71 two miles north of Maryville.

The driver was following too close and didn't see two stopped vehicles, according to the MSHP.  The Towncar rear-ended a 2013 Toyota Sienna driven by Mary R. Cox, 38, Tarkio. The impact pushed the Toyota into a 2018 GMC Acadia driven by Marissa M. Saville, 26, Elmo. Both vehicles were stopped at a stop light.

Nodaway County Ambulance transported a passenger in the Lincoln Beverly J. Russell, 93, Tarkio, to Mosaic in Maryville. A private vehicle transported a 10-year-0ld boy in the Lincoln to Mosaic in Marville. The occupants of the Lincoln were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
