Joseph C. Clipston, 85, of Leavenworth died Friday, April 21,2023 at the Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center. He was born October 23,1937 in Tacoma, Washington the son of Paul M. Clipston and Thea Lloyd Clipston.
On July 15,1957 Joseph married Carolyn Kensbock in Leavenworth, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, of 66 years, Carolyn, daughters Connie Robinson and Rhonda Skaggs, son Paul (Vicki), 8 grandchildren, siblings, Judith Smith of Portland, Oregon and Jerry Clipston of Corbet, Oregon, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Joseph graduated from Payette Idaho High School in 1955 and joined the US Army serving at many posts with family in the U. S. and abroad. He served tours of duty in Germany, Baltic Sea, and Vietnam. Joseph retired from the military in 1975 and worked at Collard Chevrolet and Rusty Eck Ford as a car salesman and Fleet salesman.
Cremation is planned and there will be no services per Josephs request.
The family would like to acknowledge the staff at the VA Community Living Center. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the care Joseph received for the short time he was there; all of the staff were exceptional to him always showing him their best. We will be eternally grateful to all the staff for making his last days comfortable.
