Larry Dean Mercer, 78, of Atchison, KS, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at his residence in Atchison, KS.
Larry was born on September 10, 1947, in Atchison, KS, the son of Merle and Della (Donavan). He worked as a truck driver for Blair Milling and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Larry's hobbies included woodworking, building birdhouses and birdfeeders, as well as hunting and fishing.
On April 4, 1984, Larry married Connie Stalder, who survives at the home. He is also survived by nine children, six siblings, twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother Delma Mercer, a brother, and a grandson.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Reverend Jacob Dandy will officiate the ceremony. Following the service, burial will take place at Sunset Memory Gardens in Atchison, KS. Family and friends are invited to a visitation prior to the service, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church and may be sent in care of Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home.
