One day after being honored as the Kansas City Royals player and pitcher of the month, both starting pitcher Noah Cameron and outfielder Jac Caglianone were also honored by Major League basebaball for their stellar month of August.
Major League Baseball announced Caglianone and Cameron have been named American League Player and Pitcher of the Month for August as voted on by media members across Major League Baseball. It marks the fourth time the Royals have had both the American League Player and Pitcher of the Month in the same month, and the first time since 1985, when George Brett and Bret Saberhagen were honored in July 1985. Willie Wilson and Larry Gura both earned the honor in September 1981 and both Brett and Gura were honored together in July 1980.
It's just the second time this season teammates have been honored as the players of the month together by Major League Baseball, following the Rays, after third baseman Junior Caminero and starting pitcher Drew Rasmussen won Player and Pitcher of the Month for June. Caglianone is the 13th different Royal to win American League Player of the Month, and the first since Bobby Witt Jr. in July 2024. Cameron is the 11th different Royals pitcher to win the award and the first since Kris Bubic in May 2025.
