Born and raised by the late Howard & Bert (Georgia) Smith in the Northside of St. Joseph, MO. Claude was raised with his brothers Thomas Smith (Las Vegas), Howard Smith & Charlie Smith both of St. Joseph.
Claude graduated from Lafayette High School. He then followed his dad's footsteps and went on to retire from Missouri Glass. Claude was a friend to all. He loved BBQing, classic rock, shooting pool, collecting monkeys & gumball machines and drinking a cold one. Some of his fondest memories are those he spent with his daughter Miquela. He spent an abundance of time with his niece Valerie (Rick) Banks-Patton of St Joseph, nephew Jeremey Smith & his sister of 40+ years Bonnie (David) Coon of St. Joseph. Claude frequently visited with his nieces and nephews that live locally. Including Michelle Lesher, Shon Taylor & Stephen Smith.
Claude leaves behind his daughter Miquela (Brandon) Cluff, 5 grandkids, his brothers: Thomas, Howard & Charles, sister Elaine (Tom) Spray, and many many nieces and nephews.
Claude was proceeded in death by his parents Howard & Bert Smith, baby brother Jerry Don, nephew Sean Spray, sister Sandy Guy Hedrick, son Brent Sexton & many friends.
Celebration of Life 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. Saturday, September 14, 2024, VFW Post 1668 at 821 N 4th St in St Joseph.
