The St. Joseph Mustangs took their first loss of the season in Joplin Monday, as the Outlaws came away with a 6-1 win at Joe Becker Stadium.
The Mustangs had just five hits and stranded 12 runners on base.
Lafayette alum Cole Slibowski and Trevor McCollum each had two hits. Pitcher Jack Wells took the loss on the mound, giving up three runs in the first inning.
St. Joseph is now 3-1 on the season. The Mustangs stay on the road Tuesday to face the Carroll, Iowa Merchants. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
