He was born August 22, 1945 in Bethany, Missouri. Raised in Albany, he retained many lifelong friends and ties there. For more than 20 years he worked in various capacities for the St. Joseph School District, touching the lives of countless students, parents, and colleagues. He also taught the OK Sunday School Class at Wyatt Park Christian Church for years.
Following his retirements, he and Karen became avid travelers domestically and abroad. In 2018 they sold their home and traveled the country in a fifth-wheel for five years, wintering four years in Galveston, Texas, where they made many friends.
