Eric Ryan Martin, 49, of Platte City, MO passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack at his home on February 16, 2024. Eric was born on February 6, 1975 in North Kansas City, MO to Linda and Pat Martin, also of Platte City.
Eric grew up and lived in the Platte City area most of his life. He graduated from Platte County High School. He was currently employed by Trane Supply as a sales associate.
Eric was a loving son, and a proud father to his two sons Austyn R. Martin (Leighann) of Platte City, and Lukas P. Martin of Gladstone, MO. Pop to his grandchildren whom he adored. Granddaughter, Savannah D. Martin and grandson, Waylon R. Martin. Eric was an avid motorcycle rider and enjoyed riding his Indian motorcycle with friends and motorcycle groups. He loved making people laugh. On occasion he would dress up in a crazy costume and go out and have a good time.
Eric was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Floyd and Norma Coons and his paternal grandmother, Dorles Hillis. He is survived by his parents, sons and grandchildren along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Friday, February 23, 2024 at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City; followed by a 12:15 p.m. graveside service at the Platte City Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be given to a fund for Eric’s grandchildren payable to Austyn Martin. Eric’s sudden death has impacted so many that knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
