Criminal charges have been filed against a woman in the death of a St. Joseph man found dead in a yard in King City in July.

Lynsey Chan is accused of giving 42-year-old Brandon Haynes of St. Joseph fentanyl, forcing him to leave her King City residence, and refusing to call for help when he showed signs of overdosing on July 28th. A court document claims Chan, who is 35, also advised others not to call for help.

Chan has been charged with first-degree manslaughter, second-degree manslaughter, and delivery of a controlled substance.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control conducted the death investigation at the request of local authorities.
